Bought this to hold 2 single stack 1911 (45 acp) magazines. Belt slots and pouches were very tight when new. I used the ziplock bag method to loosen up the pouches. Inserted a magazines in bag, left the magazines in pouches overnight. After leaving the magazines in the pouches this way for a couple days the magazine fit is snug enough to prevent mags from falling out but easy to remove mags for quick reload. The belt slots were loosened up by inserting my thick, leather belt (1.5") into a slot and pulling doubled belt one way and mag carrier the other way, which expanded the slots enough to slide on and off the belt easy. This mag carrier will never wear out as long as I take care of it.
