Edge 840
It takes a bit of muscle memory to operate this unit. I like the features if I could just remember them from the day before use of it! Could be a bit more intuitive, but it’s getting the job done!

Awesome Edge
That’s my first edge and I’m enjoying it, thanks Garmin.

Great features!
I was deciding between Edge 540 and 840. I am glad I did the touchscreen update as I was not used to using buttons especially while riding. I am very happy with screen brightness, touch screen sensitivity, and battery life even it is raining and cold in New England. Highly recommended!

Garmin - Edge 840
Pretty easy to install. Had to download the manual to start using it. Still figuring some things out. For example, the heartbeat shows 25, instead of 125, but looking at the summary at the end of the ride, it appears correct. Haven't found a computer app to download the data. Haven't figured out how to download ride maps from the computer to the 840.Definitely a work in progress!

Edge 840 is awesome
I previously owned a Edge 820, the new Edge 840 is so much faster and better when compared to the 820. And battery life is very much improved.

Slightly Disappointed
If I didnt own a Fenix 7X i would excited to use the 840 features more. I almost always toss the activities recorded on it because Im recording on my watch. I use the extended display feature but I wish I could also navigate when using ExDisplay.

Edge 840. Never looking back!
I updated this from the aged 510. I connected my back radar light and was amazed at how the light turns on and off with the start and stop of the ride automatically…game changer! Another great product from Garmin

The 840 is great but
Through out my ride it’s dropping the speed and cadence sensors and then reconnecting. I would have also thought that it’d be quicker than my 1030, like a better processor

Too hard to set up and use
Just too complicated and too much unnecessary information for someone who just wants basic information. Constantly having to reconnect to sensors and the Baria lights and radar. Wish you still offered the 520 plus. Am selling this unit and getting the 130 plus as it appears to fit my needs better. Still quality products.
