This is so warm. I skiied in -10 degrees in the Northeast wearing a Smartwool 250 merino wool base layer, this midlayer, and my patagonia powder bowl jacket and had no issue with the cold. Definitely worth it.

Weird and uncomfortable fit...

Nice material; very strange fit. I'm #170/5'9", but this is overly long on me, despite being incredibly tight across the shoulders. For reference I went by my Patagonia Nano Puff XL, which allows me enough room for a base layer and another shirt. This XL R1 barely fits across the shoulders with the lightest of t-shirts. I have a long and slender neck, but fully zipped the collar is overly long and extremely tight. Seems like it would be the perfect material for a mid layer, but I'm wondering who designs these products and do they actually look at women's bodies? Lots of women are active outdoors who aren't professional athletes with 10% body fit, just a thought.

My new favorite layer

I wanted a breathable but warm layer since I am ALWAYS cold and this is perfect. I’ve worn it with a shirt underneath and I’ve worn it without and just layered on top and it keeps me warm but cool enough that I don’t start to sweat, which is important in cold weather. I’ve only tried it in 40 degree weather but I love it. It’s flattering and comfortable too. Wish I could afford more

Perfect layer

I love this pullover! It's warm but allows for heat venting, and the fit is very flattering. I wore this over a long sleeve base layer on a run on a sunny 45-degree morning. I heated up really quickly but was too lazy to take this sweater off. Even then, I never overheated from how well it vented. I'm 5'2" 115 lbs. and bought a size small in white. Fit was perfect.

Loved the way it felt on, but was too long on me

This pullover felt amazing and I so badly wanted to keep it, but I think it looks better on more average height women. I'm 5'1" and a bit curvy and it just felt a bit too long in both the body and sleeve length. I was really on the fence about returning it. Patagonia - please make tops for petites!

Love this for my trip to Yellowstone

Bought this for my trip to Yellowstone. There were some negative reviews on this product so I wanted to add my review. I have had mixed experiences with REI outlet items. This was a win! The length is a bit longer than I expected but in no way too long. I also found that it had a slim cut, not just super straight. I am a 42 year old woman looking forward to wearing this on hikes and other outdoor activities. I think the length is great for wearing with leggings! I am between a medium and a large and purchased a large. I like that is not skin tight but still slim. I wish it had thin holes. That’s the only negative. I am happy with the purchase!

Not like earlier versions

I have two R1s from a couple of years ago and absolutely love them. I ordered the purple one here and couldn't have been more disappointed: too long, too tight, and terrible redesign of the cuffs to include a band of scratchy elastic. I returned and really hope Patagonia goes back to the old design.

Too long, no shape...

I LOVE my old R1 and thought I would add another to my wardrobe... but wow, they really changed the design. It is now very long and there is no discernable curve at the waist. If you're a curvy girl with hips and a small waist, I would avoid this unless you're really tall or prefer a straight cut.

Worth every penny.

Took this with me on a high elevation hike. It is worth the price. Kept me cool during an uphill climb in the rain, (wearing a poncho with sleeves) helped keep me warm at night, and with a short-sleeved wool undershirt, kept me just right at high elevations. I am 5 ft tall, 125 lbs and the small fit me well.
