Holosun HE509T-RD X2 Titanium Multi-Reticle System Reflex Sight w/Solar Failsafe & Shake Awake HE509T-RD-X2

BLUF: Good dot, but not for me. I won't buy another one. First of all, excellent service from EuroOptic, as always. As far as the optic itself, the 509T is okay but not great. It is a feature-rich red dot, offering solar power, shake awake, and multiple reticles. It's also made from titanium which is ludicrously strong, but also makes this dot feel a little chunky. For reference, I am using this as a back up sight on a carbine. I also own ACROs and Steiner MPSs and have shot multiple other red dots from most of the major manufacturers. I say that to say this: the multiple features of the 509T are not worth it to me. The reticle has more bloom (I have astigmatism) to my eye than other red dots like the ACRO, MPS, or DPP. The glass is also... funky. The 509T has a slight magnification, like a 1.1x or 1.2x, which I find distracting to look through. This is not limited to mine alone as it has been the case with every unit that I have looked through. Don't get me wrong: this was a great dot when it was released, and it is still a good dot now, but for the glass and emitter quality at a comparable price point, I would rather buy another Steiner MPS than this. If you think you need or just want the features that this has, it will work just fine.

This was my first enclosed emitter MRDS for a pistol. I paired it with a CHPWS plate and some blacked out Ameriglos on a G19 MOS. It installed fairly easily. Pre-loctited screws were confusing when looking at CHPWS’ love for VC3. But I ran it. Push the optic body down on the slide firmly while installing the screws. After that it’s all good. Shot a few rounds with it and it’s all fun and capable. Many many features with dot options and locking it in. Great view with glass. Not at all a “fuzzy” reticle compared to my 507k V2. Eurooptic is the best place for duty equipment. Big big shout out to them.
