Great all around shoe
The shoe is solid and comfortable the color was nice and it held up durring several day hikes on varied terrain as well as in wet and muddy conditions, the shoe didn't seem to have a long break in period the only issue was that the back of the shoe rubbed on the top of the ankle a little bit.
Would not choose again
These are extremely difficult to get on. Very tight. We forged ahead because I loved the yellow color. Well. After one use that did not last. The front is all torn up and the outer layer peeled away. I would not recommend these at all. And suggest looking at different brand.
Runs small and hard to put on
Because of how the laces are it is impossible to get these on. The opening is too small for my sons foot to squeeze in so we stopped trying and will return.
Great hiking boots.
My daughter (11 y/o) liked the boots color and that they felt grippy and sturdy. While climbing on logs she liked that the boots made her feel balanced and also protected her feet from rocks. Getting the shoes on was a bit of a struggle (smallish opening) but we liked the speed lock laces for convenience.
Looks great, but heavy and tight
Coolest looking bright kids hiking shoe, but heaviest of any kids hiking shoe. The upper bends uncomfortably over the toes and the toe box is too narrow.
Great Fit * Great Yellow Color * Works for Adult!
I bought these in a Kids size 6. I'm an adult woman, wear a street shoe size 7.5 M, boot size is 8 M, euro size 37 or 38. The Flash Hiking Boot fits very well, lots of room in the toe box, will accommodate a thicker sock for me. No problem loosening the laces to get the boot on and off. Good stable support, good arch support, weight of the boot is very good - not too heavy. Looking forward to having a supportive, solid, waterproof boot for walking, hiking, running errands. Love the yellow color. Price point is excellent as well.
Bright, light hikers
These are great lightweight hiking boots for kids. My 10yo son has been using these on trail for the past month and is really enjoying them. Our local trails are dry and cobbled with lots of elevation changes, and he is cruising for miles in these boots. The stability and grip are solid without feeling too stiff or clunky. The fit is a nice balance with a little room in the toe box without rubbing at the heel or pinching anywhere else. He really like the highlighter blue color to avoid looking like "boring dad boots."
Great, semi flexible hiking boot
My 6 year old is growing fast, so I struggle to find boots that are flexible enough to allow his feet to move freely, but with a sole tough enough to protect from sharp rocks and an energetic child. I have typically bought him Solomon trail runners for our hikes, and he has generally been happy with these. Waterproof boots, however, are usually made of thicker materials that restrict his movement and hurt his ankles. The material that makes up the top of the Flash Hiking boot is flexible, yet tough. He was able to run around without feeling restricted by the material digging into his leg. The tread was very good in the wet weather, but time will tell if they can withstand the rough usage of a growing child. They are comparable to the Solomon boots that we've tried (and have been happy with).
Fun (but heavy) hiking boot for kids
My kiddo was so excited when she saw these boots. They are nice looking and very bright and colorful. The no-tie laces are a huge win. The downside of the shoe is that they are so heavy. These boots are heavier than my adult hiking boots. All in all, I think we’ll get some good use out of them this fall.
impossible to get on
my 11 year old is skinny. these boots fit once they're on, but given the design of the tongue & laces, it was nearly impossible to get his feet into the boots. i ended up cutting the tongue along each side, still tough, i cut out the laces & have ordered regular laces.
