Why We Like The 4-Quattro XT Alpine Touring Boot
Scarpa designed the 4-Quattro XT Alpine Touring Boot to thrive on both the uphill and downhill inside and outside of the resort. We have found that boots like this always have to make a concession in some departments, but we couldn't find one. The Grilamid construction not only offers torsional rigidity and a reliable flex but it also skips the use of petroleum products. Additionally, the 100m last balances uphill and downhill performance nicely, while the durable walk mode lever ensures we can stride naturally up the skin track.

Ive been skiing the XT and SL for three seasons now and it is hands down the best touring boot Ive always wanted. With a performance fit I can absolutely smash descents on 188 by 117 Faction skis yet it walks with more cuff articulation than I can even use. This is my go to boot for most days, even on long approaches into the wilderness for laps on big lines for 12k days. From deep into the Colorado backcountry to big exposed Teton lines, Chamonix and British Colombia the 4 Quatro is my dream boot.
