  • 3D bin at the foot provides off-the-floor storage; oversize ceiling pocket in the head; media pockets provide earbud cord-routing
  • Tent corner construction with TipLok Tent Buckle™ design streamlines and combines 3 functions: secure pole-tip capture, rainfly attachment and tensioner, and stake-out loop

  • Dual low-vent vestibule doors coupled with high-fly vents maximize options for both active and passive airflow, reducing condensation in all weather conditions
  • Dual-zipper doors with easy-grip zipper pulls are smooth-closing and allow for easy entry and exit; use only one zipper for quick, reach-through access
  • Quick Stash door keepers on tent body doors make stowing an unzipped door quick and easy
  • Hook-and-loop closure tabs connect fly to pole structure, providing perfect pitch and extra stability
  • Precut guylines and tensioners are attached to fly; reflective guylines and webbing on tent corners make them easy to see at night

Great tent but no way for two 'normal' people.

Did a test run of this tent in the Sierras a few weeks ago and like it a lot. Zippers run very smooth. Easy to put up, though would be easier still if did not have the klunky poles "hub" to deal with. *[Big Agnes designers - can't you make this tent with simple X cross over at the top, even if 'bottom' width has to be as wide as at the 'top' end?] Pleasing to be inside. Adequate small pockets space for typical tent needs like flashlight, watch, little notepad, etc. Great big pockets above for clothes galore. However, one thing that could be improved are the "holders" for when roll the door flaps back and pin them to the arc sides of the tent. The loops are just too small and too tight to do the job easily. I fiddled and fiddled with them then just used the tie ropes hanging there as holders instead. Once home I made my own "extension" loops so they finally became useable. Lastly, something that REI should fess up to and do something about!!! That is: ALL manufacturers basically "cheating" with claims of size to gain 'pretend' low weight points! Look at the photo here. I mean please - could you fit two people in there??? This is the two person Copper Spur, and that's a standard 20" wide sleeping pad. I can't imagine someone else fitting in there. Get real please ALL tent manufacturers, not just Big Agnes! MMCAhiker

Too Small - Advertised Dimensions are wrong

I was very excited when picking this up, I wanted something that was under 3lbs that my partner and I could use. I set it up in my living room to check everything, and man it was a breeze to put up. Based on the advertised dimensions we would be able to fit both our pads (somewhat snug) but fit them none the less. After I set it up however, I inflated our pads and threw them in and they did not fit. I got my measuring tape out to double check my math wasn't wrong. I was under the impression a tent had to be at least 40" wide to be considered a 2p tent. I've attached pictures of the actual dimensions; 47" (52" advertised) at the head and 38" (42" advertised) at the feet. This was with someone pulling on each end to simulate stakes. I cannot give any information regarding durability or weatherproofing. I am somewhat disappointed by my findings. Maybe this tent is good for two very small people, but I find it hard to believe you could fit two full-sized non-tapered 20" Pads. I will probably be looking at the Tiger Wall series 3 person as it also is under 3lbs.

Unbelievably Lightweight

Best backpack tent I’ve ever had. Quality through and through. Unbelievably lightweight for a freestanding tent of this size.

Great tent for the weight

Easy and fast to set up (watch a you tube video first). This is the new “2020” HV2 ul version. I had the former version, but exchanged it for the new model released in November under REI’s great return policy when the original developed a small tear. I like the color significantly more on the new model too. Great tent for the weight, and the star gazing is fun on nights you do not need the rain fly. The new version is better for letting you open the vestible flaps. The mesh on the foot end of the tent held my ipad and charging battery while I watched videos at night. I have the larger sized therma rest neo air xlite, it fits fine with enough width left over for a second pad if I could ever talk my wife into backpacking with me.

No complaints

Love this tent! Very lightweight and spacious. Love the storage area and the hoops to attach lights too. Very easy to put up or take down. The ability to have the skylight dome is great as well. We recently camped in the desert in very windy conditions and it help up great.

It's Smaller than advertised

We purchased this as a "larger" tent because the Nemo Dragonfly. The Dragonfly was too cozy, we bumped elbows in the night, keeping my wife awake. This tent was supposed to be 2" wider at 52". We ordered it, set it up in the living room... It's smaller. The 52" is the measure outside the tent from pole tip to pole tip. Additionally the length is not 88" inside, but outside from pole tip to pole tip. Our Thermarest Neo Airs (regular) barely fit head to foot, and wrap up the sides a bit, touching in the middle. There's no way an average sized couple can fit without touching in the middle. Our arms fall off the sides of our mats, so we have to overlap our arms, and touch the sides of the tent. So we're back on the hunt for a little "bigger" tent.

Shame on you, Big Agnes

The tent is solidly constructed, stable and easy to set up, and I particularly like the numerous internal pockets. However, on my copy, the fly is wider than it should be and cannot be tightened properly. Also, the roof cannot be stretched well and the rain collects like in a swimming pool. I bought a footprint as well and it is not the same size as the tent floor. As someone who has lived outside for 12 years, traveling by bicycle around the world and who has slept more than 4,000 nights in various tents, I can freely say that it is a shame to sell this for that price. I'm returning the tent and getting the old good TNF or maybe giving the REI tents a shot.

Very light and easy

Amazingly quick to set up, had no problems coming after midnight after long hikes in Glacier NP, and setting this up (just the frame, I didn't care about the stakes). Only complaint is the zipper snags just too much. All the thin seams ALWAYS get caught in the zipper, just making zipping very annoying all the time. I don't know how long before something breaks. Also the poles are a pretty good frame, and ultralight, but again don't know how long before they snap or something. The space is not enough for 2 people to sleep comfortably. Fortunately I'm mostly solo and it's pretty good.

Better than I expected

Holy heck this is the holy grail of tents. I've been lugging my Half Dome 2+ everywhere for the last 5+ years and finally decided to upgrade to a lighter tent with a similar free-standing structure. It feels super comparable to the half dome with pockets, double doors, and easy 5-minute or less set-up. However, the upgrade to a much lighter tent feels incredible. It's definitely slightly smaller than the Half Dome floor area-wise, but the ceiling height is still great! I'm 5' 6" and the tent felt like more than enough space. Overall, the copper spur seems very comfortable 1 one person, or cozy with 2 average-sized people. I was worried that the pricing for this tent might no be worth it, but the quality definitely seems to align with what you're paying for (especially if you can grab it during a sale).

Light, compact, palace for 1 person with gear.

I've been camping with this tent three times over the last year. I have the 2019 version. Only difference is you can't pitch the vestibule door up as high when open. Super light and simple to set up. I use it with the footprint. You can easily sleep two and put your packs/boots in the vestibules. Running inner only in summer with a tarp cover is really nice, since here in coastal South Carolina we have Alaskan sized mosquitos. It's a palace for one pers2, which is how I use it. With everything, including stakes, it weighs 3 pounds. Love everything about it. NOTE: I have run in light rains only so can't speak to performance in a heavy downpour.

The Taj Mahal of tents.

Hands down one of the best free-standing, 2 person tents you could own. Expertly designed. This tent will keep warm and dry in bad weather and nice and cool with all the ventilation it offers on those hot summer days. Plenty of storage on the inside with two small pockets on the sides near the doors. One large media pocket above the head with a headphone jack hole so you can run wired head phones from the pocket (I put my cell phone in this see through mesh pocket, spin my body around so my head is at the foot box to watch movies at night or on rainy days) There is also a large pocket at the foot box of the tent for drying out damp clothes or just more storage. Tight squeeze if you and your partner are sleeping on inflatable pads, however plenty of room to sit up and access gear. Two large vestibules on either side with vented zippers on the rain fly. Over all, zero complaints. The perfect tent.
