Why We Like The Electron Pro Jacket
Offering the perfect blend of low weight, warmth, and protection, the Rab Electron Pro Jacket fends off cold weather so we can continue climbing all year long. The Electron Pro excels on winter ice climbs, summer alpine endeavors, and shoulder-season multi-pitches.
Light and lofty 800-fill down insulation equips the Electron Pro with mid-weight warmth, and Nikwax's hydrophobic water-resistant treatment helps the down retain its lofty warmth even when wet. Rab wrapped up this protective insulation with Pertex's highly water-resistant, breathable, and wind-repellent Quantum Pro fabric. The hood cinches down over beanies or helmets with ease, and we love how Rab added a wired peak to stay out of eyesight while you belay.

Perfect fit!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- Large
Have used it multiple times on backcountry adventures, some in pretty awful weather and I’ve not ever Ben cold. The sleeves fit better than any jacket or coat I remember. Hood does a great job even with a helmet on. Super happy with my purchase as I’ve got long arms and legs and it still fits even extending with activity.

After an outdoor-product review gave this a top rating, I thought I'd love this jacket. But it's more like "meh" than love. The Good: * The sizing seems right * The hood is my favorite part, since it adjusts well and the drawstrings don't get in your face. * The price for the less-popular colors is good for what it is. The higher-price is NOT a good value compared to many you can get in that big "double-lettered" outfitter in Freeport, ME. * It's pretty comfortable overall * It packs down well if you need to stuff in a suitcase when traveling The Meh: * It's pretty warm but not THAT warm. * The hand pocket are cut really high so they aren't that comfy to walk with your hands in. * It has an inside pocket that's good to tuck stuff away, but a second breast pocket would be better. The Bad: * I REALLY DON'T like the tight, elastic cuffs at the end of the sleeves, maybe because I have big hands and wrists? Not sure why they went that route over the adjustable velcro that everyone else uses.

Great quality but runs small

I really like this jacket. It's great quality and looks great. I'm 5'10", 180lbs and almost always wear a medium in shirts and jackets. I ordered a medium and it fit perfect in the sleeves and chest but way too small around the middle... and I don't have a large stomach either. There's no way I could comfortably wear another layer underneath. I'm hoping to try a large.

This jacket arrived this morning and I've been out all day with it. Very warm and I strongly suggest going up one size from your regular jacket size. My only criticism is that I would like an inside pocket of two, don't like carrying important stuff around in outside pockets. A Velcro closure would be an added bonus for those inside pockets. Thanks!

Had for about a year now. Great jacket. Much more durable than my arcteryx Cerium LT, and really nice athletic fit without being too slim. Colors leave a little to be desired but the ink is a decent dark blue. I am 6ft, and 155 lbs. Medium was perfect with just enough for a fleece underneath.

Tight around the armpits
- Size Bought:
- Large

I bought this jacket for my husband and we wanted to love it but unfortunately it was a little too tight around the armpits for him. He's never worn Rab before so we were hopeful it would fit just fine, but it happens. It's a great jacket functionally, just didn't fit him right.

Love this Jacket!

I use this jacket as my every day go-to puffy in the winter. The cuffs are what do it for me! Most puffy's use the adjustable cuffs, but this has a stretch cuff that is so comfy. This jacket is extremely warm!! If you are looking for a coat that will keep you warm, but can still perform when needed, this is the one for you!

Nice!

I'm 6' tall, 167 pounds with a 32 inch waist. I normally wear a medium and according to the size chart that's what I ordered. With a t shirt and fleece underneath the jacket is too tight for me. I'll be exchanging it for a large.

It was this or the Thorium. I'm really happy with my choice, this jacket is great and then some. The cuffs work just perfectly with gauntlet gloves/mittens. These might be my favorite cuffs on a puffy of all time. Construction is perfect. It's generously filled, very warm, and the Pertex Quantum Pro is excellent for where I live and play. The little extra of the Pro hasn't let any moisture in through some sloppy wet snow or sleet. And it's sharp looking with a very nice fit! I will happily wear this for years to come. A+, great job by Rab.

Favorite New Camp & Belay Puffy

I chose to buy the men's puffy rather than the woman's version as I didn't want a slim fit - I wanted a large puffy that worked as durable jacket to wear around camp and to belay in during cold springs/ falls and winters. It's the perfect sleeve length and a great fit with or without layers. I have a really nice light alpine puffy with 800 fill but it's so light it isn't very abrasion resistant. I got this puffy to help make the life of my alpine puffy last a long time. The material on this is great - won't be worried about it in abrasion hazard abundant areas like jtree. Seems really well constructed, great material, good loft, super stoked on the quality (but also should be for the price point). The dual zipper is really convenient for belaying bc you can stay fully zipped to your chin while zipping the lower zipper up for the belay loop/ rope. It has one inside zipped pocket that I keep the stuff sack in but is also great for an iphone. When zipped and pulled down with out the lower zipper zipped up it is a bit tight around my bum, but I don't mind it bc I rarely pull it down past by butt. I honestly love this jacket so much that I've started wearing it around town during the winter bc it's really cozy and easy to throw on top of anything to stay warm (living in Truckee so it gets cold). Highly recommend. I did get this during black Friday so it was a lot more budget friendly, and warranted the investment when I already have a warm puffy. I haven't used this as an active puffy/ warmth layer, and don't really intend to. I wouldn't bring it winter backpacking (I'm a bit of a weight weenie bc I prefer steep and long mileage stuff), and wouldn't do any intense hiking where you really got your cardio going. I prefer more breathable layers when I'm being really active in the cold. Could be okay as a summit jacket if you don't mind it taking up the space in your day pack.
