My 5 year old has been riding a balance bike but his pedal bike from REI was heavy and slow to break, I knew he had the skills to ride a pedal bike though, we got the guardian bike in 2 days, super easy to put together and literally in 2 mins he was riding on his own. He only fell once and that was 2 days later on a mountain biking trail, just truly going too fast around a bend. The only downside was the little loop piece to prevent them from turning too sharp broke pretty quickly after our first day, I can probably rig it back on but it was helpful and may need to be secured better.

Great purchase
Bought this for my 5 year old who had outgrown her balance bike and never learned to ride the 14” Woom bike she’s had for the last couple years. I wanted to give the guardian bike a try based on the reviews. I kept the pedals off for a few days as she got used to the size of the bike and using the hand brake. She decided that she was ready for the pedals and immediately got herself up and riding after I put them on. She’s been riding this every day and getting more and more confident. This bike definitely did not disappoint. Highly recommend for timid riders. Also very easy to assemble which was a plus.

Well Designed, Cool Colors
We purchased for our 5 year old's birthday and she is loving it! She's still learning and working her way up to riding it with pedals, but she loves the fact that it's a balance bike and can work her way to the pedals. She loves the cool color (mint purple), that she can reach the floor with her feet, it will grow with her and the bike is light weight. We love that it's well designed, safe, easy to navigate and easy to put together. She absolutely loves the bell and color grips we purchased as add ons.
