Women's Torrid Jacket

A favorite of long distance backpackers, The Torrid Jacket offers warmth, wind protection, and moisture resistance at an ultralight weight. Designed to keep you warm while keeping your pack light, the jacket starts at just 7.60 ounces (215g). Built using 2oz/yd² CLIMASHIELDâ„¢ APEX synthetic insulation, the Torrid maintains warmth and breathability even when damp.  

The smooth ultralight nylon fabric has a durable water repellent finish for better performance in light precipitation. The adjustable waistband and elastic cuffs keep warmth in and cold out. The optional hood adjusts with a shock cord, and a grosgrain zipper garage at the chin increases comfort. Zippered pockets keep the essentials at hand. The Torrid Jacket is slightly oversized to accommodate layers, and has raglan sleeves for a full range of movement. For those who won’t let weather get in the way, the Torrid Jacket is the perfect 3-season layer.

    • 2oz/yd² CLIMASHIELDâ„¢ APEX insulation performs better than down in wet and humid conditions, dries quickly, packs small, and is easy to clean.
    • CLIMASHIELDâ„¢ APEX weights may vary +/- 10% due to production variances. Read more about our Fills.

Fabric:

    • This jacket features either a Black 10D/Charcoal 10D, Forest 10D/Charcoal 10D, or Graphite 7D/Salmon 7D nylon fabrics.
    • All Fabrics are PFC Free, and use a C0 DWR.

Fit:

    • Sizes run about a half size large for layering purposes.      

Features:

    • Cinchable, shock cord adjustable, insulated hood.
    • Raglan style sleeves to increase comfort and range of motion.
    • Zippered insulated handwarmer pockets with shock cord waist adjustment in pocket.  
    • Elastic wrist closures to keep out drafts up sleeves.

So far so fantastic

Shipped late so I just recently received it in a resupply box from my mom but I've had it for a few days and I love it. The inner fabric is so lightweight it looks fake like the coat is computer generated and this thing has GENEROUSLY sized pockets. The hood fits an actual human head properly. I got the tall so the sleeves are long enough even when I raise my arms, I don't have a bad thing to say about it. I DID smack myself in the face with the hood drawstrings. Twice. Watch out for that.

Gorgeous!

This is the perfect puff. It replaces a sentimental fave that got stolen. I didn’t think the replacement would be as good, but I have to say I like this new one more! I’m so happy with the colors I chose. It’s light and warm and I can’t wait for my next thru hike in a few weeks.
