Bought this little .177 as a quick light weight pest gun to keep in the garage. Already own a Magnum GR that is crazy accurate. Well, turns out this thing seems just as accurate. Cleaned the barrel and fed about 50 rounds then tested for grouping. Half inch 20 shot group at 20 yards off a bag with the 3-9x40 scope that came with my GR. Pellets were JTS 10.4 domes. And this thing isnt even broke in yet. Also shot a very respectable group with JSB 13.4 Monsters. I thought it seemed loud because there is more noticeable twang and bounce from the spring till my wife shot it and I was about ten feet away. Nope its actually pretty quiet. Will be receiving a UTG scope soon, its worthy of it. At this price, I dont see how you could beat this thing. Light, accurate, good fiber optic sights and the SAT trigger. This is replacing a heavy, not so accurate Crosman Nitro Piston with a bad trigger that has had me pulling my hair out before. Do the 10 for 10.

Pros
Light, consistently accurate, sat trigger, price

Cons
Scope of course

Pros
Pretty accurate, nice sights. Pretty nice feel to it. But it is a spring airgun, so you have to hold it the same way every time you shoot. I can get 1.5" groups pretty reliably at 30 yards. From a sitting position.

Cons
Loud. 81 dB measured from 14 feet away. I wear earplugs when I shoot it. So the silent cat, and the whisper, must have been sarcastic by Gamo. That's my biggest problem with this thing. I wanted something quiet, but got this.

fiber optics were amazing and perfect out of the box and needed no adjustments were needed but the scope was not and needed to be adjusted after about 150 shots

Pros
Amazing out of the box

Cons
Scope wasn't sighted in properly

Like most of the other reviews, the front site is visible in the bottom of the scope.

Pros
So far so good. I think it is a good gun for the money. Definitely powerful enough for plinking and showing my grandchildren proper gun edicate.

Cons
The so called silencer is a waste. The compression spring make a louder noise than the pellet exiting the barrel.

Pros
I have only shot it about 30 times. It seems to shoot accurate. I bought a different scope to use on it. I purchased it to shoot crows that harass my purple martins. Main reason I purchased it was due to the noise level of the shot. I have neighbors so I wanted something quiet. Seems to be well made.

Cons
The safety switch does not switch back to safe after fired and cocked like the description says. It isn't a big deal for me since it is a single shot. But if this gun was for a youth, then I would return it.

Excellent gun for the money. Trigger pull is manageable. A much better deal than the "American" brand that is made in China.

Pros
Open sights are really good (not common for Gamo low end rifles) Powerful, lightweight and sleek . Included 4X32 is much better than expected. Smooth cocking and much easier to operate than other brands.

Cons
Thumbhole stock is on the smaller side, particularly the thumbhole itself. Quite a kick, scope has to be secured tightly. Gun is quite loud mechanically, pellet is very quiet though (sounds like a giant rat trap)

Great Great Great product. Not reviewed after a week or two, but 3 months and 1600 rounds in. Kid tested, mother approved. (Like Wheaties) a complete joy to use. Always a dream to shoot. Never a problem. Ever. EVER.

Pros
Everything except plastic trigger is fantastic. Consistency, power, ease of use, features, and ease of break barrel movement. It is my favorite and most reliable purchase from a.g.d. yet, out of 6 purchases/exchanges. It has been a delight for over 1600 rounds. No q.c. issues AT ALL. Average of 20 to 30 yds use, always a pleasure to fire and play with. Best ammo for me is Gamo Tomohawk pellets. Accurate and efficient. Gun is an absolute pleasure to use.

Cons
Plastic trigger. That's it. ...Oh, and dovetail mount is a bit out dated, but can be converted for 10 bucks to whatever you like.

I bought this to shoot in the back yard. That was a mistake. It's the opposite of quiet. You just about need to wear ear protection. I spent a lot of time reading g to find the quietest air rifle. This one was listed. Apparently those reviewers never actually shot it and were using other reviews they had read as their basis.
But the quality of the gun is surprisingly good otherwise.
I can't get any accuracy with it using the open sights. Which are also very nice for the price by the way.
I think it may be the way I'm holding it, as the spring air rifles are apparently known for being sensitive to how you're holding them, even if your sights are on target when the trigger is pulled.

Pros
Good quality for the money.

Cons
Quiet? No. It's very loud.

Hi all :), I'm looking to buy a pellet gun to use mostly for hunting. I'm going to mostly be using it to kill rabbits, wild pigs, birds, and kangaroos. The guns I'm looking at to kill these animals are the Camo Big Cat 1250, Gamo Whisper Silent Cat, 177 cal and the Gamo Wildcat Whisper. Which one of these would have the most power, accuracy and being able to shoot far distances? Please only comment if you know what you're talking about because I really only want an expert opinion as these are a pest to me making a living as I live on a farm. Thanks Sam

asked Sam
