There is a dovetail mount on top. That is all in regards to mount options. What you put there is up to you.

Maybe, but a .22 (or even a .25) caliber air rifle would be a much better bet for reliable one shot, one kill capability (with accurately placed shots), and you won't have to worry about sonic booms compounding the noise (as long as the rifle is rated less than ~1000fps).

I bought a Gamo Silent Cat .177 Refurb and have had zero issues w/ it. I had a 9x40 scope already so I put that on it. Tight groupings at 50 yards with the right ammo. Just as good as the brand new Gamo Varmit Hunter .22 that I bought around the same time.

I have bought a refurbished gun and it came out looking brand new. It shoots great and I saved 100 bucks. For me it was the perfect option to get a top of the line gun for my smaller budget I had. As far as if it's right for you or not just remember there is a a slight risk when it comes to buying refurbished items. You just have to decide whether or not it's worth the risk. Remember the risk is very minimal there is usually a warranty on refurbished items.

Using pellets heavy enough to stay subsonic, I measure 90-100 decibels about a foot away from the midsection of the gun. Subjectively it seems at least moderately loud, but nothing nearby seems to react—not the birds singing nearby, not the neighbors, nothing except the rats I'm shooting at (of course, they also learned to scatter at the sound of the window opening, so it's a high bar). That said, I'm not convinced it's inaudible to any of the above—I think it's just not loud enough to take particular notice of. I wouldn't want to test it with target practice at some unsociable hour.

It's not loud. Use lead pellets and you won't have any problem. Stop worrying about the speed , all that does is cause accuracy problems.

I've had mixed results sometimes it's quiet and sometimes it sounds like a 22Cal. I guess it depends on the pellets.

I just got this gun for Christmas. It is very loud with pba pellets because it breaks the sound barrier. If you use lead pellets, it shoots a bit slower but it is a lot quieter.

For the amount of power this gun has, it shoots quietly. I'd have to say it's as quiet as it can be. I mean it's not a friggin BB gun.

It is very loud. If you live in a quiet area and you want to get that little furry four legged creature that's been giving you problems, the silent cat will solve it but the whole neighborhood will hear it. It's a good shooter, but not very silent.

the rifle is accurate. Good tight groupings within 3" circle at 50 ft. Definitely has power. but is far from silent. i'm in my own yard, but keep my shooting times to appropriate hours to be considerate to neighbors. The scope is in a separate box. My 18 year old son mounted it and got the tight groupings. But did say he was limited in adjustment and must compensate 1-1/2" due to scope adjustment limits. I have only fired without the scope, so have yet to attempt adjustments on the scope. It is a great deal compared to new/ retail. And arrives as if new except that it is a plain brown box. I can,t expect better quality for the price and glad I didn't pay extra for a box with a picture on it. Sorry, no answer on the bi-pod.

This rifle is powerful and accurate. I sighted in the scope in about 15 minutes and 10 shots at 25ft. I taught my daughter how to shoot it and she was hitting the target consistently after only 5 or 6 attempts. She had never fired a gun in her life. I recommend using a high quality pellet for the best accuracy. I can hit a silver dollar sized flip target at 30 yards 8 out of 10 times. I bought a ABU NC Star Universal Barrel Bipod for it at Airgundepot. That's the way to go. Would I buy it again? Absolutely!

Depends upon what your other two are! : ) Seriously, this is a quality air gun. I am a very accurate shooter. However, due to the current cost and unavailability of ammunition, I haven't been able to fire as many practice rounds of self-firing ammo as I would like. Even high quality BPA pellets are only a couple cents each and are readily had. Standard pellets can also be purchased for about a penny a piece. Especially compared to one dollar per round for larger caliber rifle ammunition, having a quality air gun also makes sense. I typically fire around 100 rounds per session. If I could find the firing ammunition, my cost per session would be about $15 for one of my .22's or around $100 any of my hunting rifles. Depending on the type of pellets I am using, my ‘ammunition' cost now for pellets is only between $1 to $2. Before I bring out my firearms at the range, I warm up with my Gamo at 50 yards. After I run the target back for convenient viewing and others can see the bulls eye results, it is not uncommon for one them to come over and ask, “What the heck kind of rifle are you firing.” I just smile and say, “Actually I'm not ‘firing' anything.” : ) The silencer works well, but since this is a powerful air gun, the spring recoil sound is audible. The Cat is not as loud as a .22 and ear protection is not technically required, but I always wear ear as well as eye protection. If you are shooting at a range, both are mandatory even if you are just an observer.

For an ‘Unsupervised' Teenager, NO! This is not a toy. The package instructions specifically exclude this option. Sometimes even the President is correct even though the correct spelling reference pictured here is ‘Ryder' as in ‘Red Ryder'. This is not a “Christmas Story” toy BB- Gun. With ‘Qualified Adult' Supervision, YES. Qualification doesn't mean you have to be a card carrying NRA big game hunter, but you should know how to comfortably and safely fire a center fire/rim fire pistol or rifle. Know that for that this air rifle eye protection is required and ear protection is advisable. You should be over the age of twenty-one. As I previously mentioned, this high performance air rifle is not a toy. However, when my granddaughters turn eighteen, I will teach them how to responsibly use mine properly and safely.

Same here, when site is adjusted higher the looser it gets. Doing a little investigating I found the forward hinge pin to be larger than than the bored hole it supports, thus the slop you noticed. I plan on removing pin and machine a closer tolerance, but have yet to find a way to disassemble without doing any damage. Still the sites are more than accurate at 30 or under yards. Scope provide with gun is more than adequate. No problems filling a quarter size target 30 yds or under. My only complaint is fixed site does get into view of scope somewhat.

Quit looking you have found your airgun, but buy a better Gamo or a Crosman scope. A Gamo 3-9 power x 40 mm or a Crosman 4-16 x 40 are well under $100. Each can offer parallex correction so you can adjust for distance. With either you are well under the cost 'rule of thumb' which states, "The scope should cost as much as the rifle."

I've killed 4 rabbits with mine so far. The previous comment is right on about aiming for the sweet spots. Two had to be shot twice. One however, I shot from about 50 yards away in the dark. It stumbled for about 4 steps and dropped. This thing is powerful and effective. However, I wouldn't take the chance on anything bigger than a rabbit.

Yes, this gun could take all of those animals out with ease. When you are hunting rabbits, you need to go for the sweet spots though. (head, heart, spine). It is a great hunting rifle up to about 80-100 yards.

This gun would DECIMATE a frog. They wouldn't stand a chance.

Hello, the trigger pull on this gun is usually pretty simple. it IS adjustable if you know how to take a gun apart, but that nullifies the warranty and return policy.

Small screws on the rear sight adjust for elevation and windage.
