Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Sale price makes it a good choice for me.
Not 100% down filled. The tag on the jacket I bought shows “Down (80% Minimum)” whereas the listing has it as 650-fill-power down with no mention on the percentage of down. I purchased the one color that was on sale and what I got is a second. Nowhere does the listing say it’s a second. There are 3 parts of this jacket that the sewing is messed up. Both inside pockets have an unfinished strip rather than being lined with nylon, and one side also has the lining bunched up like they miscalculated or cut it out wrong. I’ll likely keep it as it functions ok for my needs and the price was good. In April 2022 I purchased this jacket when they called it REI Co-op 650 Down Jacket 2.0. I mainly wear it indoors during winter - I hate being cold but live in MN. It has numerous patches from being torn but the zippers all work, it’s comfortable, warm, and the price was good compared to similar jackets. The main reason I got another one is the price was right and the first one has served me well - still does but now I have a choice of colors, and it will eventually wear out.
Good jacket
It does what it’s supposed to. Only time will talk as far as it holding up, but it’s a warm jacket. I don’t know if the other reviewers have just not tried, but it 100% folds up in its own pocket. For the price, I don’t think you can beat it when you can but two of these for the price of one of the others.
Nice jacket
Good jacket for the price. Bought it for an Iceland trip. Packs down well, meaning you can jam it in a pretty full suitcase for the plane ride. Fits well, allows movement. Semi water resistant, kept out the light rain, wouldn't use it for a downpour. Easy to add a layer over and under for warmth. Decent job of wind resistance, up to maybe 10 mph does ok. After that if it's cold (and it's cold in Iceland with the wind blowing, but you know that) you need a layer over it. Good size pockets for gloves and other stuff. Good all around travel jacket, for excursions to places where it's mid 30's (that's in fahrenheit) and above.
Great jacket and it DOES zip into its own pocket
I'm very happy with my new REI Co-op down jacket. Nice color and fit. It's very light and I'll wear it often. I'd read the reviews and thought I'd add my two pennies. I will probably not often find the need to stuff it into its own pocket but thought I'd try. It easily stuffs in and with just a little extra effort, it zips up. Unzips even more easily. If zipping the jacket into its own pocket is important to you, please know that it's very doable.
Much less awsome than past versions...
Significant Downgrade from the 2020 version of the same coat, I will be returning it :( Very disappointed, this 2023 version has multiple problems that did not exist in past years. A few examples are the much smaller side pockets which now scrape/scratch your hands with zipper teeth when taking them in or out, looser elastic wrist cuffs so the sleeves hang too low & a much more pronounced 'inner sleeve hemline' which is very noticeable against your arms when wearing with a short sleeve shirt underneath. I really hope the flaws are corrected in the next version, I would love to return to this brand if so.
Good value for everyday wear
I purchased this as an everyday jacket and not a trail gear piece since it was a good price during a sale. Stratus grey color is nice and is neutral. Good pockets including two large open top pockets inside which are great for gloves or a phone. Main complaint would be that it is not as warm as I expected. Below about 40 degrees Fahrenheit I have to add a fleece layer underneath. The outer fabric sheds light precipitation for short exposures. If it is windy, it does layer under a shell fine. Other complaint is that is loses feathers more than any other down coat I have. For what I bought it for, it does a decent job for the price.
Not a bad jacket; but REI is skimping on features
Not a bad jacket overall but older version was much better. You are going to see many reviews that say it is packable; it is not by definition packable because there is no longer a two-way zipper to close the pocket. Can you cram it into the pocket and get the zipper half way shut from the inside with some work? Yes. Very hard to move that zipper back though. So technically this is not a packable jacket. I have two of these, one packable and one not and I like them but it's really a shame that a great company like REI decided to remove such a valuable feature to save a few cents while jacking up the price 30%.
Warm, light, durable, doesn't leak too bad
Everyone's really hung up on the pack-into-pocket thing. Doesn't bother me at all, I stuff it into a gap in my pack or my clothes compression bag anyway. Elastic cuffs are great but not super tight, and the drawstring waist is nice. It's very light and warm. I've done some minor bushwhacking to get to water sources and no durability issues. It does leak a little bit of feathers, very slowly and not really an issue. The deep green color and subdued logo is a nice bonus.
Offered in "Tall"
I have been wanting one of these 'puffy' down jackets for quite some time. However the two major brands "Pat.." and "NFace" don't offer in Tall. When I found this, I snatched one up. Now the good: super comfortable, light weight and GREAT fit. I totally see why people like these so much. Just warm enough to take the edge off and works great for active life. Now the delta: the quality is just 'ok' multiple treads loose inside (like the sewing machine ran out of the bobbin thread). I had to trim these off which makes me feel like I won't be surprised when seams start to open. Hence the 4 star rating.
Decent jacket
I bought this jacket about a year or more ago but it was on sale for 30 bucks and for that price it's been a steal. it can keep my comfortable with a decent base layer at about 35/40. If I'm being active I'd say as low as 20/25. I'm decently tolerant to cold. up until about a month ago I didn't lose any down but I noticed when hunting I was losing some. it certainly helped keep my upper body warm with another fleece and a vest in 5 degree weather. I don't think I'd be too happy with paying 130 bucks for this. I'd save your money and go with the 850 down if you want something really warm. all in all it's a decent jacket..wait til it's on sale. it's very lightweight and packs down decently.
