Great-Fitting Unlined Shorts!
Bought my first pair a few months ago, and have since ordered them in four colors! These are the only shorts I have found so far that flatter my wide hips, are fairly far down my legs, and are unlined.

Sporty shorty shorts
Cute active shorts with sass. A-line cut adds a little swing to your step. Wide elastic waist holds everything in place.

Almost perfect, if not for a few flaws
I bought these shorts after really loving the Veza adventure jogger, and many other Cotopaxi products. For reference, I was a size XS in the Veza, with the inseam just a hair too long (I'm 5'1"), but it works fine enough, and the waist fits on the looser side of comfy, which I prefer. As such, I bought an XS in these shorts, and the waist fits similarly, though maybe a hair more snug. The fabric is different (as indicated by the fabric content on the listings) but they're soft and comfy in their own way. I would give 5 stars, if not for a few details. The main issue is the a-line cut. It's nice for hiking and running, to get that extra airflow. But I absolutely cannot rock climb in these, or do yoga at a studio, or even go up steep stairs when other people are below me. All that airflow translates to basically no secure coverage for multi-angular movement. The other main flaw: while I'm very grateful for the pockets in these shorts as a concept, they're not very functional for holding a phone while running. Again, because the shorts have that loose a-line cut, the phone flounces around A Lot. The Veza jogger, in comparison, is more tapered into the leg. If these shorts were shaped like the Veza pant leg, I bet my qualms would be addressed. I will probably still keep these shorts for comfy casual uses, but I'm a bit bummed out that they're not as versatile as I had hoped.

An outdoor short that’s actually true to size
I went on a hunt for a new pair of hiking pants for a trail project I was going on. I have thicker thighs and butt so I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to find the perfect pair. I went to a local outdoor gear shop and tried on every single pair of pants in the largest size they had (size L, not a single XL in sight) and none of them remotely fit (like not even halfway up my legs). I typically wear a large so this was frustrating. I switched my tactic to finding a pair of shorts and every single pair labeled as a “large” didn’t fit. The waist was too small. The leg holes too small. But when I tried on this pair of Cotopaxi shorts in large they actually fit. Thank you, Cotopaxi for having a size range that matches the rest of companies. And thank for including pockets in these. I can even fit my phone in them! My only qualm would be to add a waist band inside so we could tie it off. They ride up a bit since my waist is smaller and I would love to be able to secure them more.

Tierra Adventure Short
They hold there shaped well; no creases after sitting/traveling in them. However, what I don’t like about them is the “rose over run” - too high - mom shorts. Need that wide band lower for coverage & support. All my opinion of course.

Light, functional, and true-to-size
I bought these shorts for daily wear away from work during our too hot summer in East Tennessee. I also am traveling to southern Europe next month and figured these shorts might be useful on that trip (and I think they will be). They are very light and hold their shape well. I love the pockets, including the little internal zip pocket. The large fits me well and is not form-fitting. (I am about 5'4" and between 135 and 140 pounds.) The waist band is wide, which I like, but sometimes the wide elastic in it folds over. That is probably just due to my torso shape, however. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and bought these in three colors.

Tierra
Perfect for running, and the pockets are nice and deep. I’d say the run a little small.
