The Outline Mid GTX Hiking Boot is suited for trail adventures through good or wet weather. Head out to explore new places and the GORE-TEX membrane will keep our feet dry and comfortable through stream crossings and rain showers. Great hiking boot
This is the second pair of salomon hikers I have purchased. I put these on and they immediately felt like I have worn them forever. Went hiking very soon after purchasing them and absolutely love them.

My 1st pair of hiking boots
I've completed 75 hikes last year in these boots. I normally wear 5 in street shoes and 6 in running shoes. I did get a 6 in these and I can wear my wool blend socks with no issues. The tread grip is awesome. I've hiked through mud and creeks and kept dry. I do feel the cold if water is over entire foot or if I get snow on the top of foot. Yes, great for snowshoeing if not heavy snow area. I get many compliments too on these. Now I'm trying to get a new pair.

Too small and narrow

Returning these. I have a hard time finding shoes small enough, a true size 5, and these were too small and narrow. Might try sizing up, because they are very light and might be comfortable.

Perfect… the first few wears
I haven’t used these that much, couple times a year since I got them in 2020. Grip is great, lightweight, fit is comfy. But the waterproofness is an issue. The last trail I did was muddy and these could not hold up. They weren’t soaked and I didn’t realize how much wetness had seeped till I took them off – socks and feet were both muddy. Would still keep these for hiking trails I know won’t be muddy though.

I didn't get to wear these as they are waaayyy too small. I went by other reviews that said they are true to size so I went with a 9, I wear anything from an 8.5 to a 9 so decided the larger side would be better. I can barely get these on. My toes are all the way at the end with zero wiggle room. I would love to send them back for a 9.5 but it looks like there are none left. If you are looking at getting these in one of the sizes they have remaining I would caution you to go a bit larger than you normally wear. So disappointed.

Lace Hooks Pose a Danger and Inconvenience
These are great, but for one pivotal aspect that totally ruins them—the lace hooks! They are so absurdly wide that they catch on everything! pant cuffs, repeatedly and laces. The women’s Outline shoe, for this reason, is dangerous and so, worthless for any purpose. The look is excellent and fit feels very good, but I don’t recommend them to anyone. I’m dreading the wipe-out when the lace loops take me down face first….and if I keep wearing them, it’s just a matter of time.

Loved these boots but...
I hate to be writing this as a review because I've had salomon boots for years and I stand by them love them! I have had quest boots in the past but really wanted something more light weight for summer. I hike at least twice a week. I bought these boots 2 months ago and I was so happy with them! I never slipped on rock surfaces, they are light, I did not seem to have the waterproofing issue that others have my feet stayed dry and they fit so nicely. After one month I started to notice more wear than I have on my other boots I generally have my boots for a year before I need a new pair or at least 6 months. By now on month two I'm starting to see holes forming in the toe box area, the soles are very worn in some areas which is making the grip that was amazing not the best and little spots on the soles are separating. Normally I don't write reviews like this but I'd hate for someone else that hikes as much as I do waste their money. I tried to write privately but the contact page was not working. I wish I could just afford to by a new pair of these every 2 months because they are great up until then but I just cant do that. I'm very upset that I have to find a new pair right now as I hike for work but can't really afford a second pair this season. I really expected more out of these especially because I loved them so much.

Awesome shoes

My ride or die
I have had these boots for three years and have worn them to the ground. They are super comfortable and waterproof yet breathable. I worked outside and would wear them on supper hot days as well as super wet days. They were perfect for both. I have hiked and backpacked hundreds of kilometres in them as well. Salmon has yet to let me down. Just wish i could buy another pair online.

My favorite hiking shoe. Comfortable, waterproof, and moves with my foot. I don’t like stiff boots or require lots of support. Just bought my second pair.
