Titanium Outdry Ex Reign Jacket
When you're two days into a week long backpacking trip, you don't want to get caught in rainy weather only to discover that the shell you brought along is about as waterproof as a plastic bag. Well thanks to the Columbia Titanium Outdry Ex Reign Jacket you'll never have that problem. This versatile rain shell uses Columbia's OutDry Extreme waterproof system, which represents a stark departure from traditional shell construction. Rather than have the jacket's waterproof and breathable membrane fused to a synthetic outer fabric, the OutDry Extreme system places the membrane in direct contact with the elements, and puts a synthetic wicking fabric on the inside of the jacket. This eliminates the need for the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) on the outer fabric, in turn preventing the soaked feeling and reduced breathability that can often occur when a DWR fails. The result is a more breathable, more reliable, and more durable system.
OutDry Extreme isn't the only thing to like about this jacket. It's got all the bells and whistles that'll help you thrive on the trail. An adjustable hood ensures that your head will stay as dry as the rest of you when you're caught in the rain, while zippered underarm vents let you expel heat when you need to really cool off in warm summer storms. An adjustable hem will keep wind from creeping up your jacket on exposed summits and steep slopes, while the full-zip design allows for extra venting and the ability to easily swap out under-layers.

The cost is too high, but the quality is poor.
The cost is too high, but the quality is poor. After washing at 30C, the coating began to crack. At the seams, the coating generally began to rub down to the white lining. The jacket was bought in the spring, wore for 2 months. Disappointing quality.

Very breathable. Very dry.
Having had a large number of very expensive rain jackets that wet out in 30 min or less, outdry/shakedry technologies are a real blessing. This jacket stays water proof and is breathable. I also love the pit zips deep hood, and pocket vents. I ordered a L, I am 6'1 - 210 and it fits well, maybe a tad roomy in the arms. I was worried it would be too short to wear while biking but it is not. I hope they make the outdry pants again someday.

Need to fix sizing
Dear Columbia Sportswear, please fix your sizing. I ordered this jacket in a L initially and it was a bit too small. Too fitted to layer underneath with a sweatshirt. Ordered an XL and its way too wide, short in length, and too long in the arms. Also have this same issue in Womens jackets (my gf). Please update your sizing to be closer to true to size. Because its rather frustrating and probably will never order from here again. Thanks

Runs big, but great rain jacket!
Unique styling and high-quality. But it was evidentially sized to be worn overtop of an overcoat, worn over top of a blazer or suit jacket. I normally wear an XL, and I have shipped back the Large to exchange for a Medium.

Great jacket!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Omnitech finally failed in a downpour and I took the opportunity to level up. Hasn't rained as hard since I got it but I am loving this jacket. Breaks the cold wind quite well. It is just a shell so pair with with a OmniFreeze t-shirt and a fleece if you are going to be hiking in the wind and rain. Sleeves are a bit long but that's what you get when you're fat. ;-P Oh! PIT ZIPS! I was oging to go with the PFG model but this one has PIT ZIPS for the WIN!

Good rain shell
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket replaced a competing brand jacket I accidentally tore. The quality of the fabric and jacket are excellent. The one down side is that the zippers are incredibly stiff - I have tried lubricating them with zipper protectant but still stiff. Requires two hands.
