GMC Canyon long bed fitment was a challenge. Went with full size truck bed tent for this tent and will have to deal with it a little baggy. Original return was very expensive (should have used Amazon).Quality product but still made in China.
I’ve been having to drive down to Texas and back up to Oregon quite a few times over the last couple of years, and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon because of my parents getting older and their health declining. I can’t fly because the airlines won’t let my best buddy on the plane. He’s a 140lb lab/pyrenese mix. We love the drive, but sometimes it’s hard to find a place that will let my buddy sleep with me so I thought I’d try out your truck bed tent. That was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It makes a scenic drive so much more enjoyable and I find myself getting a little sad as the destination gets closer. I’ll try to send some pics of a few temporary homes we made along the way. I recently received my Kodiak Truck Tent for my 2021 Ram 1500 w/ 6'4 bed and I am beyond happy. The build quality on this tent is incredible. From the canvas itself to the zippers, this is made to last. So far I have only camped out in my driveway as a test in preparation for an upcoming camping trip. It was pouring rain one morning, and inside of the tent stayed completely dry. It was incredible. The tent was then dry by the evening, as it did an excellent job at repelling the rain. I would recommend adding a row of magnets to the sides of the tent, to help keep the extra fabric closest to the cab nice and tight. This will prevent any unwanted insects from getting in.
Tent was absolutely phenomenal. I got it for a hunt I’m doing in Idaho later this year, but tested it out with my son last weekend and we loved it!! Very well made and I can tell it will last a long time. Looking forward to many more memories made with it!
I just bought the full size short bed Kodiak canvas. My daughters (ages 7 and 5) just drove from NC to western Kentucky for the recent eclipse. The night before the eclipse, it stormed HARD and was in the high 40s. We didn’t get a single drop of water in the tent and we stayed plenty warm. We have a travel trailer but this is a great option for a quick trip when you can just find primitive camping AND when packed up, the canvas and poles fit under my rear bench so we’ll have them if we ever get into a dire situation. This thing was made right.
