Our most versatile gaiter is rugged, breathable and uses stretch-woven recycled nylon 60% thicker than INSTAgaiter®, enhancing the durability of this extremely breathable material. A PFAS-free durable water repellent (DWR) treatment provides an extra layer of moisture defense, while the Aegis® rock guard reinforces and protects critical stitching areas. Designed for multisport adventurers, this adaptable workhorse is ideal for use in rugged terrain with hiking shoes or low-profile footwear.

Well-designed, functional, and extremely durable.
I've just purchased a second set of these to replace my first pair, which have developed holes in the ankles after 1,200 miles of hiking in the course of a birding big year. These have withstood wading through blackberry brambles, hundreds of miles of foxtail grasses, and literal fields of thistle, keeping 99% of the debris out of my shoes and basically never snagging on anything. They also did a great job of keeping ticks out of my pants, especially when treated with permethrin. The fabric is very durable, and while the occasional foxtail can stab its way through, the rest brush off easily. The zipper works perfectly, even when coated in mud, and the elastic top keeps them up at full height without issue. The waterproofing works well, shedding rain and dew well enough that I never had wet feet when hiking in the rain. The instep strap is the best design I've ever seen -- the adjustment is straightforward, and once set you never have to think about it again. It's also borderline indestructible, and shows virtually no wear even after walking several hundred miles on gravel/rip-rap levees. As a whole the gaiters are easy to put on and take off without removing your shoes, though I just left them attached to my hiking boots the vast majority of the time as you have full access to the laces with the gaiters zipped down and folded back. Overall a fantastic product -- having worn them for well over a thousand hours, I have no complaints.

Sahara Desert was no Match
I wore these gaiters while trekking in the Sahara Desert and not a grain of sand entered my boots. Some folks were wearing taller and looser fitting gaiters and were constantly unloading both their boots and their gaiters until they gave up. Not having ever walked in desert dunes before, I did not know what to expect and was very pleased. I used these on boots that were higher fitting than walking shoes and they fit fine.

Kahtoola RENAgaiter
They perform their duty well, keeping crud out of my running shoes on runs, hikes and woods walks with the dog. This is my second pair of Kahtoola low gaiters. These have a nice snug fit, sitting comfortably an inch above the ankle and a couple inches below the top of the sock. Used them a few times so far; they’ve stayed securely in place, don’t even realize I have them on unless I look down at my shoes.
