HOT (ABOVE 75° F)

HOT

ABOVE 75° F

In Hot environments, your main concern is moisture management and breathability. Our L1 Baselayers work directly next to the skin to wick up sweat and breathe it out, helping keep you dry and cool.

TEMPERATE (45° - 75° F)

TEMPERATE

45° - 75° F

In Temperate/Wet environments, you want to balance breathability and protection from the elements. Our L5 - Softshell layers will provide plenty of protection from light rain and wind while providing optimal breathability.

COLD WET (32° - 45° F)

COLD - WET

32° - 45° F

In a Cold/Wet environment, staying dry is the key to warmth. A waterproof shell will protect you from environmental moisture like rain and snow and highly breathable insulating layers will pull excess perspiration away from your body.

COLD DRY (0° - 32° F)

COLD - DRY

0° - 32° F

Cold/Dry environments are usually windier. Wind protection and insulation are key considerations. Also ensure you are using layers that wick moisture away from your skin to keep you warm.

EXTREME COLD (-40° - 0° F)

EXTREME COLD

-40° - 0° F

Extreme cold environments are usually dry and sunny. Wind resistance and insulation are generally a higher priority than protection from rain. Depending on whether your activity is more static or active, high-loft layers like an L7 may be required.

Quick Reference Guide

Here is a break down of all environments and which layers to use in each condition.

Active Use - Refers to when you're on the move (hiking, climbing, skiing, etc).

Static Use - Refers to situations when you are not moving (sitting, resting, eating etc)

Optional/Environment Dependent - Refers to situations where you might be in the temperature range but need more protection from elements such as wind or gusts or if you are more susceptible to the cold.
