I really wanted to love this
I like the fit, color, and everything else about this jacket. Upon the initial inspection, I noticed some loose stitches randomly dispersed throughout the jacket (see pic). I thought Fjallraven was a quality brand and the jacket would be better than what I received at $275. Sadly, I’m going to return this for something else.
Awesome winter coat
Amazing jacket. Incredibly warm. It is crazy how light it is but how it keeps you warm
LOVE LOVE LOVE
I absolutely LOVE everything about this jacket. I have the beautiful blue and it's so vibrant and alive. When I zip up the front all the way, the soft fleece covers my mouth and chin and keeps my face nice and warm. The jacket is lightweight, but so warm and cozy. I really like the zipper pockets because they are big enough to carry lots of stuff. I can't say enough good things about this jacket. I wear it on walks, hikes, and for riding my horse in cold weather. Well made, gorgeous color, warm, comfortable, perfect fit, and a large hood that completely covers my head. Keeps me dry in the rain and warm in the cold. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!
Gorgeous, warm jacket
I've been shopping for a new down puffy for a while. This jacket immediately impressed with its super smooth, luxurious-feeling fabrics and classic aesthetics. It fit me perfectly (size XL with hips on the narrower side) and was priced similarly to other high-end down jackets. The down is certified, the fabrics are recycled, and the funny "eggs" at the collar are pretty fun. Overall I'm really happy that my local REI had this jacket in stock as I was about to go for one of the more mainstream brands with more technical-looking jackets, and I strongly prefer this one -- but would have never thought to check out Fjallraven. Hope to have it in service for many years!
Nice all-around jacket
Purchased a large light blue in this to replace my med REI down jacket. I've worn this a month. I have not yet been hiking in this jacket yet so I don't know how it will hold up passing through brush. The adjustable hood fits well and is a must for me. I have room for layers underneath. My REI medium jacket became too tight in the chest. Looks good on. I like the slightly longer length too. I have not washed yet, but plan to machine wash myself with Nathan's sportswash which worked well on my REI down. Very good warmth in 20° with med. wool base-layer underneath while active. If just sitting out in that temp you would need heavier down coat. So far only one feather came out.
Doesn’t hold up to cleaning
I loved this jacket. Until it needed cleaning. I realize the directions say to professionally clean with water and put it in the dryer with tennis balls. I did wash it at home, on delicate with the REI down wash gel, and dried it with tennis balls on the lowest setting. And the down is completely messed up. Large chunks and most of the jacket has no down. I realize I didn’t take it to a professional but honestly, this is the kind of jacket that gets worn all the time and needs to be cleaned often. I have other Fjallraven gear that I love so was sad that this did not work, especially for the price. (Notice there are no cleaning instructions mentioned in the listing.)
super choice
love love love this jacket!!! it's so light weight, it feels like I'm not wearing anything, super warm and wind blocking.. and the color is drop down dead gorgeous.. a perfect pick for a happy walk outside in gloomy COLD weather. size medium, 135 lbs, 5-3 plenty of room and oddly enough, I don't look like a polar bear in it.. I wanted something shorter than my long parka/coat, and this satisfies that requirement.
not warm
This jacket was not warm at all. The sleeves were without down- only on the outside. The other half, like elsewhere on the jacket, was only the shell material. It is NOT windproof Nd not at all water resistant. Looks nice, that's all. Only good for 35-40 degrees and warmer, no snow unless very dry. NOT worth the money.
Super nice
I bought this as a mid/top layer for an upcoming work contract in Antarctica. It’s surprisingly lightweight but feels very warm. I’m 5’8’’, 150 and the M is perfect. Not super fitted, I can easily wear anything under it: merino mid-layer or fleece jacket. Hood is perfect. Sleeves are long enough. Excited to try it out!
Perfect
Wow. I feel like I’ve been searching for the perfect jacket for what seems like years now and I’ve found it. Absolutely amazing quality jacket that feels absolutely lush. I’m a broader woman and was concerned with looking like the dreaded Michelin man in a puffer and I’m happy to say this jacket is surprisingly slimming. I’m so happy I took a chance on this one. It’s very unique in that I’m not overheated when I have it on, yet the cold doesn’t permeate this thing seemingly at all. Granted I’ve only tested it at 30-40 degrees thus far, but in my part of the country, it only dips about 15 degrees more, and I feel like it will hold its own. I haven’t had a chance to test what it does in the rain, but from research, it seems you may want a shell to keep warm with the natural down.
