Purchased this for a home defense weapon. Hard to locate the blem, a little discoloration on the dust cover. Went with a full Magpul furniture kit. Built the kit with an Anderson lower. My first kind of build. Everything was to spec, installed perfectly. A $299 rifle kit, $39 lower and you have an operational AR. What's not to like? I'd buy a blem again in the future should the situation arise. Great service, quick shipping. Happy camper here.

Bought it even though I didn't need a 7th AR. Couldn't pass up the price. My first AR build was daunting, but that was just ridiculous. Once you get past the mental part, it's like putting together a puzzle and very hard to screw up. Now that I have the right tools and a few builds under my belt, I did this one in an hour or so, including some accessories. ZERO blemish that I can find. No, it's not as smooth as a LaRue but it's shooting match grade 55s 2MOA from the first shot. This could easily produce some MOA groups after break in and with the right ammo. For under $300!!?? Just writing this, I'm almost talking myself in to buying another couple just to hand out as birthday presents! How PSA sells these for this price, I have no idea.

First firearm purchase. Prior US Marine. Did the build in one night with a hammer, a security torx bit attached to a long bit driver (couldn't find an Allen bit for the pistol grip), and a razor.I put about 40 rounds through it at a buddies house then left it sitting outside with us till morning covering it in morning dew. Gave it a crude wipe down with a shirt and threw it in the trunk of my car. 2 weeks later, no visible rust.Yesterday, put about 300 rounds through it after a light glaze of oil with not one misfire. Replaced the buttstock with a usgi repro fixed stock and purchased an a2 carry handle with rear sight. Finished the build with the "consent" lower, also from PSA.I love it. My buddy's are thinking about getting the kit because it's silly to not own one at this price point.

I built this along with a stripped PSA lower and but 80 rounds through in the first weekend. The following weekend I took to a 3 gun competition and it ran flawlessly. I’m very pleased with the product and honestly I couldn’t find any blemishes. Just make sure you purchase a rear sight to get started punching paper or smacking steel.

I paired the PSA Freedom Rifle Kit with a PSA Lower I picked up locally for a "my first AR build." Found a set of $8 BUIS, $16 red dot, and a $12 sling on Amazon. Picked up a $10 bouncing ball target at Walmart and a $50 starter pack of AR500 steel from Red Hound. Had to buy a set of brass punches from Auto Zone for $30, a couple 10 round mags locally, and an inconspicuous Bulldog case. I'm into this range toy around $500 all told. Frankly, I'm amazed how well it shoots with the cheap irons and red dot. Hitting the 4" ball from 15-50 yards is a cinch, and the 50% torso is a fun challenge at 100-150 yards. Not pictured are the piles of brass I've gone through already.

I needed an upper to mount on a new polymer lower receiver to show how easy it is to build an AR 15 carbine. I normally completely build these rifles myself but the PSA upper was priced about the same as just purchasing parts so it was a no brainer to use this PSA upper. I just Cerakoted the pieces to match the Flat Dark Earth lower receiver to make a very nice AR carbine. It think it would be difficult to build this carbine at same or lower price any other way.

Everything worked fine for the first 200 rounds, than started getting short ejects, then no ejects (every other round was a stovepipe). My gunsmith says someone disassembled the bolt and either cut or broke the ejector spring (it's about 3/8 inch shorter than standard and has a visible cut-off mark). They also failed to reinstall the rubber plug with the extractor spring. Both the ejector and extractor could be easily moved with a thumbnail. After about 200 rounds, they were too weak to do their jobs. The gas key screws were also looser than standard. Gunsmith says apparently someone removed them and never re-staked after reinstalling them. His conclusion is that the upper assemble was previously sold, messed with by the buyer then returned and re-sold to me. Who knows? What I do know is that you need to check everything very carefully when buying a "blem". Here's a pic of the bolt and the defective/damaged springs.

I ve put a few hundred rounds through this rifle, built it on a Savage Defense stripped lower. No misfires, put a competition scope on it and with match grade ammo, at 100 yards I m shooting 1” groups. Nothing like blowing the centers of all your range targets. This was my first 5.56 and I didn’t understanding the hype until I got one, and the build was fun too!

First time building an AR. You would never notice the blemishes on this kit. Everything was included (minus your stripped lower) and I even received 1 extra deten pen and spring. I guess they know how easy it is to lose them. Great deal, great fun, can’t wait to break it in.

It works well, it’s not fancy but is probably a better rifle than most are shooters. It gets the job done and I’ve got no issues with it. I couldn’t find any blemishes on mine, not that it matters to me anyhow. I’ll build more for sure.
