Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Warm and super comfy
I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review. These pants are open fleece on both sides, meaning, one side is not smooth or brushed; they are the same on both sides. I put them on and immediately felt how comfortable they are. The front pockets are big enough to actually put your hands in but be aware, if your hands are cold, you will feel it on your thighs because the pocket lining is very thin. There is a small zippered pocket on the back. The fleece is thick. I wore them for many days as lounge pants in the house and they were warm and comfortable. Then I took them on a winter boondocking trip to the high desert where I used them for short day hikes and a few low level rock scrambles in mid 40°F temperatures with wind. They were warm and perfect for the use. Finally, I slept in them with the furnace set to 55° and a light comforter and I was too warm! These pants are warm! I love these pants, and I highly recommend them.
Excellent warmth for camp lounging!
Love these new REI co-op trailmade fleece pants. Color: very cool on trend teal that has an uniquely incredible way with matching so much of my wardrobe! Fit: I am 5’6’’, 140#, wearing size Small fits like a glove. I’ve washed them a few times (laid flat to dry) and they did not shrink. Fabric: so soft and comfortable, a high quality fleece. Like wearing a blanket as pants. Warmth: I usually layer up and chill easily, I’ve worn these most mornings for early morning dog walk, and in the low 30s to mid 40s, no chill at all. Great warmth. Bonus: back pocket secure zip so you don’t lose your valuables! Front pockets are more than ample in size too. Bonus 2x: I’ve worn these outside doing yard work a few times and got them messy/dirty, the fabric seems to have magic clean up properties because they’ve washed totally clean both times!
Very warm!
I got these pants from REI while participating in their product exchange program. I probably would have never tried them if they weren’t sent to me. I am glad they were! I’ve worn them around the house a few times and once in 25 degree weather while out walking the dogs for about an hour. I was nervous about the length, because I’m 5’10, but they are totally long enough and also don’t fall down when I have stuff in my pocket. I totally plan on bringing these for overnights on my next winter backpacking trip. My only complaint is that they are a little baggy.
Miss the Teton fleece pants!
I have been a huge fan of the Teton fleece pants. I have worn them since the 1990's. Last year when I ordered them, the style had changed. No more zippered legs and the pockets were smaller, but I was ok with them. This year, that item is no longer available, so I got the Trailmade fleece pants - not NEARLY as good as the original Teton fleece. The pockets are a good size but do not zip closed. The back pocket is zippered, but I don't like having a pocket there. The leg openings do not taper and are too large, allowing cold air to flow in. PLEASE bring back the original Teton fleece specs.
Comfy but not most flattering fit
They are soft and well made. The waist band was slightly tight. I wish the elastic was a bit more stretchy. The area around the midsection was bulky, so fit was not so flattering. I was sent a petite medium, so they are a little short as seen in the photos.
New Teton fleece pants not as high quality
This is my 3rd pair of Teton fleece pants over many years. The fit is similar and fine but the side pockets no longer have zipper closures although there's now a back pocket with a zipper. This is unfortunate as the deep pocket was great for securing a cell phone or wallet. Also the leg hem is strangely covered with silver grey hem tape instead of a rolled bottom hem.
Toasty warm!
I bought these for winter running. (And also for the long inseam.) So far I wore them once as the only layer on my legs during a 3-hour run at 23 degrees Fahrenheit. They kept me the perfect temperature. I didn't get sweaty, and more importantly, I didn't get the popcicle-leg syndrome that I always get with skin-tight leggings. As a 5'11" 175lb woman with 38-30-40 measurements, I chose the tall Medium, and it fits well. It's just a little too snug to wear leggings underneath, so I'm planning to order a tall Large to go over a base layer for sub-zero temperatures. The "black" should really be called dark gray though!
Warm and comfortable
In the winter, I am always looking for warm pants that aren’t bulky to wear under my fly fishing waders. I now own 2 pair of these because they are perfect - adding a layer of warmth without the bulk.
Great around my house. Perfect for the PNW!
While trying on joggers in REI, I spotted these fleece outside the dressing room. While I was looking at them, another customer highly recommended them. My home has high ceilings and big window. It cools down quickly after the sun sets. I have worn these every day from sitting around the house to mowing the lawn. They are wonderful, soft, fitted but moveable. I didn’t overheat while mowing, so they breathe. I have ordered another pair.
Poor quality
I've worn REI fleece pants for years. This year's version is of extremely poor quality. The fleece is very thin. No zippers on the pockets. The waste band is flimsy. And the ankle portion has no stability. Also, the sizes are off. I ordered Small petite and that was too big. Then ordered extra small petite and that was too large. I've returned them and would not buy them again. Unfortunately in the past I've loved tham.
