Description
Select is an enhancement of our RS grade of Pyrodex. Using RS or FFg data in a volumetric measure, Select can significantly reduce group size.
Select performs well with sabots and conical bullets. Has also become a favorite among many blackpowder cartridge shooters because of its exceptional consistency. For target use it is the "best of the best".
Made in the USA by Hodgdon Powder Company.

Pyrodex Select
Top drawer performance in various calibers. In my Springfield M1879 .45 Govt. with 405 grn. HB bullets and 70 grain volume of 'Select" I can put twenty rounds thru it with excellent accuracy and no swabbing or blow tube needed. The breach block still closes with no effort. I have used Pyrodex since about 1979 and never looked back. Great Product.

Hodgdon Select
it is necessary to clean between shots and use a drill bit to clean the flash channel of the breech plug. Upon cleaning the breech plugs tend to be a bit tight to get out but not bad. I find the greatest accuracy with decent velocity with a 300 grain bullet. (1800 fps +) at around 130 grains of powder. Clean up is easier than I expected from what I had heard. All around a good powder

A highly refined black powder substitute. Burns as clean as black powder can, easy to clean up but the best feature of this powder is the consistent velocities it produces. A superior powder.
