Our go to adventure basecamp

We would prefer a little more coverage from the rainfly. We are able to sleep 6 adults (guys 6' 7" 6' 3" and 6 ft) and 3 dogs when we have the whole family. When it's just the 2 of us we use half for sleeping and a place to hang out when the weather is bad or we need shade while the other half is our kitchen and bathroom. I love my Eureka tents. I have a 35 yo Denali that is like new. If you take care of them they will last.

So Far So Good, But Drafty

I've been using mine nightly since the end of May this year (2023). Considering the design of the windows - which do not include zippers and/or velcro to fully close, and would otherwise keep the interior air warmer - I'm surprised they haven't let much, if any, rain in.

Look elsewhere

After 17 years I had to finally retire my Columbia Bay Cougar Tent. I had read reviews on this gave it a shot. Finally used it this weekend. Underwhelmed to say the least. Windows are not zippered so to keep the water from coming in the design team flared the window cover and added a drain. Yes water drains but this adds bugs to your tent. It also didn’t seem as sturdy as my former tent as there were no cross rails on the bay windows. The screens brand new had many “runs” and the floor is in no way puncture resistant. After one 3 day trip and one day of rain my center supports (white poles) already began to rust. This could pass as a backyard tent but not for that price. Look elsewhere

We love Glamping

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Amazing glamping tent!! My partner and I wanted more space so we upgraded to this. We just used it in Moab for a 7 day trip and it’s by far the nicest tent we’ve ever used. The tall ceilings are a game changer- my husband is 6’2 and he loved being able to stand up straight through our the entire space (I had to remind him a few times that he was bent over for no reason though haha). We didn’t get any rain, but quality felt amazing- don’t see any issues in the future. We had company a few nights and we threw up the wall divider so each couple had their own space- even that felt luxurious. Definitely recommend spending the money and investing in this tent!

Excellent

I have owned the older version since 2016 with original fly design. It is superb in every way. It’s only my wife and but as we get older the room to move around is welcome. We use a queen size air bed . We have camped in torrential rains, wind ,near freezing temps and in 95 plus heat. We love the large and plentiful windows. I am 6’ 3” and can stand up in it . The tent has never leaked including in one rainstorm that was so heavy one guy was seen kayaking in the campground. . Six years later the tent still looks new and is dependable as ever. It pays to buy a good tent . I have been happy with every Eureka tent I have ever owned and thoroughly unhappy with any other brand. Johnson Outdoors is a great company as well. I had to get a replacement pole for this tent and they were a pleasure to deal with and shipped the replacement promptly . I also bought and Old Town Kayak this year and I had some use and car questions and they responded promptly and answered my question in some detail. .

Great upgrade from a 4 person Coleman.

Love having more room in this tent! It’s an upgrade from a 4 person. Room for cots, able to stand up. All great. Haven’t camped in the rain with it yet but had it set up in the yard did a week and it did rain then. Didn’t see wet spots. Only thing I didn’t love is that the zipper doesn’t work really smoothly. Wish that were easier to operate. It tends to get stuck.

Rain, snow, drunken parties

Our Eureka Copper Canyon has withstood heavy thunderstorms, late fall snows, scouter camp outs, and outdoor parties thrown by our young adult children. Put it up this weekend and it survives to camp again! It’s coming up on 15 years old and it looks like this may survive until we host backyard camp outs with the grandkids!

Not good in the rain

A pricey tent but was very willing to pay the price because of the size and features. The first time out got some rain nothing crazy but the tent leaked on multiple places. I had water coming in from the door zipper even with everything velcroed down. Also had water coming in from the corners. I will be camping again this weekend to give it another chance.

Exceptional Rain Protection

I bought this about a month ago and went camping during the Colorado "monsoon" season. I was skeptical of the window cover designs and very worried when the afternoon thunderstorm showed up. I rained off and on throughout the afternoon, but after sunset the really hard rain started for a good 3 hours. It was probably the hardest rainstorm I 've camped in and the inside of the tent was completely dry inside. The rain was falling hard enough that we could not hear each other talking inside the tent without yelling.
