Without this magazine release your shield arms mag will eat the OEM mag release or any other brand mag release you try to buy. So this is not an option, you must buy it or your mags will drop when shooting. I like it that at least they sell it with ...

Ambidextrous steel mag catch/mag release for the Glock 43X and Glock 48. This steel mag catch is required to work with the Shield Arms S15 magazine. Using this steel mag catch with plastic OEM magazines can cause increased wear on plastic mags and OEM mags may not drop free. We do not recommend using our steel mag catch with plastic OEM mags. We recommend steel on steel or plastic on plastic. If you have a first generation aluminum mag catch, it is required to upgrade to one of these steel catch offerings.image
