Nice fit, terrible smoke/stone fabric

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

This just doesn't measure up to the older versions of this product. The fabric, and dual pockets of old has been replaced with a thinner fabric, open ring snaps, and as pictured - one pocket. Everything feels cheap (but it's not a cheap shirt). But my real issue is the fabric. The smoke/stone is a non-starter. It is very thin and feels like it won't hold up, and also has a fuzzy/shiny sheen that sheds on anything you would wear over or under this. I tried this on over a dark t-shirt and had to either wash, or run a fabric roller over it. So if you can stand how terrible the plaids look, perhaps that is a better fabric. For this price, this is a non-starter. On fit - I would say it's generally true to size. I wear a medium in a lot of brands, Patagonia for one reference. If you are a medium in that, the medium will be good. It is fitted, so if you are wide or have a barrel chest, size up. But it's no more fitted than the older versions of this product.
