Fantastic trigger. Not marketed as being for duty, and I'm not saying you should go for it. However, if you're experienced with the weapon this trigger is used on, and have good trigger discipline, it's my opinion that this trigger is optimal for real world situations that call for a duty rifle. Geiselle will not market this trigger as being for duty, but there is absolutely operators using this on the field. It is similar to a mil spec trigger, just lighter, crisper, and downright better in every way. It could be used for 3-gun, but two stage triggers are not preferable over single in this case. PSA offers as good a deal as I've seen for these quality parts and when the deal came out, i bought two of them, because i know the worth of these triggers.The initial takeup is smooth. The wall is definitive and is not easy to break by accident The break imo is what it should be after you graduate from a mil spec trigger. A reduced weight while not being easy to accidentally discharge. The reset is considerably shorter than a mil spec trigger. This is where you need to be careful. There's significantly less take up after the reset and if you start applying pressure immediately after the first break, you could discharge earlier than anticipated. Nothing that can't be learned with practice. This info is highly based on my opinions. Once again, I'm not suggesting you use this trigger for duty, but I would, and others do.

All I can say is this trigger is not cheap, but is worth every penny. With the money you save by building your own, this addition can set your gun way above a store bought variety and more than likely, the gun your frirnds are going to want to shoot. Words don’t express how much of a difference this trigger makes to a standard or even enhanced trigger AR. Its like a Savage Accu Trigger on a semi auto. Just too cool.

I’m loving this trigger. The smooth 1st stage 2lb pull let’s you feel the 1lb 2nd that breaks like a hard angel hair spaghetti stick. Way better than the 3.5 lb single stage drop in I had installed. I installed this trigger on my older ( export/LE marked Colt LE 6940 with a Trijicon TA 31 ACOG with the CH reticle and a Docter factory RDS ( pre RMR). The Mil-Spec trigger was on the high end of trigger pull spec . The installation was relatively straight forward. My first. I watched Geissele's 2 part video. I missed the spring orientation the first time but another video or two clearly showed the orientation that the in Geissele video was not clear to me It was an easy correction. First trip to the range and once I became familiar with the two stage trigger my groups tightened up considerably. The CH reticle is still a combat reticle and does not have the preciseness of a MOA or Mildot. I just placed it over a 5 inch circle target on an 81/2 by 11 piece of paper which I could not clearly see and WOW..my best grouping ever. As Mr Geissele recommends for CQB /self defense go with the SSA. For designated marksman usage the SSA-E is great.

Bought this excellent trigger from PSA over the Memorial Day Sale for $169. I believe it is the biggest upgrade I have done to my custom AR-15. The two stage take up allows some "forgiveness" if I decide to use my rifle for home defense. A friend of mine bought a CMC single stage at the same time and I prefer the two stage by far. You squeeze the trigger till the you feel the wall of resistance and then it cleanly breaks predictably every time. The CMC is a fine trigger but you have to mind the fact that there is NO slack in the trigger and I believe could more easily accidentally discharge for a carry situation. The Geissele has a more substantial hammer and is easier to clean than an enclosed trigger. Easy installation. I highly recommend this trigger for target shooting, hunting and home defense. The group shot here was with factory Federal 55 grain FMJ ammo at 100 yards.

I think this is an amazing trigger! It has a nice, crisp break on the second stage. My intention was to install in my Smith &Wesson M&P 10. The lower has factory ambidextrous controls. This hammer would not fit past the ambi bolt release. I contacted Geissele about my issue. They said it was made for mil-spec only. Ok, I get that. I asked if they had any ideas on how to make it work or another option for my rifle. They suggested sending pictures and a description, so I did. I have not received a response from Geiselle. Again the trigger is great, I just put it in another AR. Palmetto was great on the price and fast shipping. I gave it 4 stars because I was hoping for some feedback from Geiselle.

It is a really great trigger. It's so crisp and smooth and the reset is very nice and quiet. If using this in a 308, you may want to contact Geissele. I put the SSA into an AERO upper build that had 5 or 6 failure to fire rounds out of 50 using IMI NATO ball (primers' were hit). I was shooting my PSA 308 build at the same time with the PSA 2-stage and it worked flawlessly through 150 rounds of IMI and NATO ball ammo. I was surprised with the Geissele problems, especially since they include the heaviest hammer spring they make, so I called them. Their customer support is top shelf and the guy put me on hold while he found out if anyone else had this problem. When he came back he said that evidently some people have been getting failure to fire on some of the harder primer ammo, but only in 308's and the work around was to install the titanium 308 iring pin from JP Enterprises. That set me back just south of $47. I haven't tried it, but I did order another PSA 2-Stage. I'm going to put the PSA into the 308 and put that Geissele into one of my wifes' 556's or 223 Wylde. I've had zero issues with the Geissele's in 223 Wylde or 556 guns and love them. Just a heads up to the 308 guys/girls, you may want to stick with the Palmetto 2-stage offering. It too is a great trigger and costs even less.
