Great fit but massive quality issue!
Firstly let me start by saying I’m a MASSiVE fan of Arc’teryx clothing. I’ve owned numerous jackets of varying types over many years. The original Cerium LT was always a bit fitted across the chest for me so I was massively excited to try the new Cerium Hoody. The positive is the fit is absolutely spot on! Slightly more roomy in the chest area than the previous LT model. Now for the negative and sadly it’s a big one. I’ve now ordered this jacket in two different colours from two different authorised Arc’teryx suppliers - the first being Habitat and and the second being Oracle. There appears to be a HUGE quality issue with the new down insulation. In both the jackets I received the inner filling was both visible and had stained the nylon - see on the Oracle colour way received in my pictures. I’m pretty sure this wouldn’t be noticeable on black or dark colours so beware! Come on Arc’teryx this isn’t the normal quality I’ve come to expect. Really disappointed.

Great jacket
So, I bought this jacket for a trip I will be taking to rocky mountain national park. It is very light for its size. I have a ghost whisperer non-hooded jacket as well and this one is only slightly heavier. The one thing I wish it did have was a drawstring. I don't know why the company did not add one to this product. Even to one side. Other than that the fit is amazing and not too tight, despite a more athletic fit. I am 5'7", 147 lb, with an athletic build and I bought a medium and it could not fit better. It fits perfectly under a Beta LT Hybrid shell and is roomy enough to put a base layer and a "lightweight" fleece underneath. The cinch on the hood is also incredibly necessary. Rock on Arc'teryx.
Color ORACLE. It looks dirty at the seams
It looks dirty at the seams, maybe it was the color of the down under the light fabric, but it was really strange and ugly to wear.
Great Warmth, Great Fit!
Light and Warm is a claim many down jackets make.;this is no different. However, what sets Arc'teryx apart is the athletic cut. If you're like me and have an athletic build, you typically end up buying a bigger jacket to accomodate for chest and shoulders while accepting that the jacket will fit like a dress at the waist. Not with Arc'teryx. With a focus on technical clothing, they certainly cater to people in shape.
Great lightweight insulation
Great jacket... nothing fancy just simple and to the point. It comes with it's own stuff sack that can be leashed inside the pocket - very smart design. Very cozy with a moderate slim cut without being baggy - likewise for the hood and collar. Works good in cool temps and wind.
great insulation, but a little boxy
I have both the Cerium LT and Thorium AR and the Cerium is clearly filled with more down. The hood of the Cerium is also filled with down, whereas the Thorium hood appears to contain synthetic fill and there are no baffles. However, if you're the type to purchase "slim" fitted clothing, this will look very boxy on you unless you do some serious layering underneath and use this as an outer layer. Standalone, there is just too much open space between the jacket and my body and arms. I bought the small and and am 5'7 125lbs, but I imagine the jacket to be boxy even if I were to get up to 145. My advice to the manufacturer is to make a slimmer fit.
Very warm
I have this, a Cerium SV, an Atom LT, and an Atom SL for my range of insulated jackets. The Cerium is great for near or below freezing temperatures if you won't be moving at all. It's really easy to overheat in this, so I highly suggest not having this if you plan to only wear it around the city. I'd say if you run hot, wear this only if it's freezing and windy if you're moving. I'd also bring this to switch out when your hikes keep you stationary in dry, freezing weather. The pockets are huge, so they can hold your phone easily, however, not really insulated, so you may want gloves if you aren't using some sort of warmers inside.
Not good enough for the price.
The jacket has a flimsy zipper that is difficult to thread if you want to zip up. No excuse for this in such an expensive jacket. Needs a hefty zipper. The fit is rather snug but the description does point that out. As an older man, I like loosely fitting garments. I didn't expect it to be so snug. The color is very light and the down can be seen through the fabric. Looks funny, and you cannot pick up on this in the online pictures. Again, not acceptable in a high-priced jacket. I guess that online shopping has some disadvantages!
Great Jacket: Cheap Zippper
I absolutely love this jacket, the only major fail is the cheap zipper that was used in its construction. It fails 30% of the time. I am going to see about having it replaced come spring. It's sad given everything else feels and seems so well constructed. I took this jacket all of the midwest and northern Canada this past January and never once felt a chill. I would definitely buy another.
Well-Insulated and Lightweight Jacket
The Cerium LT is very useful for fall and winter as either an outer layer or mid layer. For cold Canadian winters, I use this under another down jacket or shell like the Beta and it fairs well even at -20 to -30C conditions. Keeps me very toasty especially when indoors. The fit is true to size, I am around 180cm and a medium is the perfect length for me. Being able to pack it with the included bag is a nice addition when camping or for trips. As probably mentioned by many others, the other downside is the delicate material, which may be prone to damage if you stumble across tree branches and such. The zippers could be higher quality but it's understandable to keep the weight down.
