A very substantial weapon. Seems to be well made and feels Ike a quality piece. I feel it is a good value for the price.

Cons
Hard to sight in using the iron sights. Have not tried it with the scope that came with it. I also found that breaking open the barrel to load requires a lot more effort than I anticipated. If your not pulling it open at the correct angle it requires a lot more effort. Slower loading than I had hoped for.

I would buy this gun I think you will be pleased with it

I like the way the gun looks. I like the power of the gun. I like the weight of the gun. I like the accuracy of the gun. I liked the price of the gun. I liked the iron sights on the gun even though they are plastic. There was very little not to like about the gun. I did change the scope. I put a barska 3by9by 32 scope on it. Once I had fired about100 shots thru it to break it in it was very accurate. I'm getting bullseyes thru it at 30 yards..All in all a good gun and a good buy. I'm happy with it. I liked Airgun depots prompt shipment. I actually got it a day early. All in all I'm very pleased with my dealings with them. And I'm pleased with the gun

Maybe a better scope. Even though I had no problems with the one that came with it.

If you have an eye on a rifle or any other product, go for it! Have fun!

Having owned used a Diana 34 .177 & a Diana 48 .22 since 1995, I wanted to try a nitro piston rifle. After reading many reviews of the Crosman. Vantage np, & considering the good price I ordered 1 in .177. I'm very impressed with it an have no problems from the 1st shot. Great entry level rifle to nitro piston & air rifles in general. Also prompt, excellent service from AG Depot. Hope to do more business again soon. Thank you!

Very poor accuracy! Even with doing all the investment "Mods" on the rifle and scope upgrades(multiple), this rifle has very poor accuracy with any pellet tried! It's been shot hundreds of times with little to any improvement. Everything is tight as far as being snugged down like it should be but to no gain in accuracy. I'm glad I didn't pay much for it, now I can just get rid of it and not feel bad. FWIW, I own or have owned several dozen air rifles and have never had one that time and TLC couldn't improve!

I'm sorry that Bill had a bad experience with his Vantage rifle, but it pays to get to know how these things work and be able to fix or modify them to get the best out of them, I have several cheap air rifles that weren't much out of the box, but with a little investment of time and a few bucks they have turned into great shooters, this is one of them. PS, mine is going on three years old now and still shooting great.

I have some high quality air rifles and some that are pretty inexpensive, but I'm picky about what I buy and do my homework, the Crosman Vantage in my opinion is one of the most inexpensive air rifles I own, but in spite of it's low price, it's a well built good quality air gun.

I don't like the bland finish on it's wooden stock, the bundled scope was junk, and the trigger was horrible, but it took 15 minutes to sweeten the trigger, just a few minutes to mount a better scope and it's turned into a highly accurate, powerful, and capable plinker and short range small game rifle, it's reasonably light weight makes it a great woods walking gun, worth every penny I paid for it.

this gun is junk. I have owned many air guns and shoot frequently. This gun doesnt shoot straight and the barrel sticks when cocking. I would rate this gun at zero stars. Do not buy this gun.

Good overall air gun. No problems at 1500 pellets. Great for squirrels and is accurate. Havent had any pellets not pass thru at close range to 30 yards The sights arent bad but they are plastic which bothers some people. If you plan on putting a scope on there Id recommend quality rings with a machinehead/ torx screw, regular weaver thumb screws just slide back from the recoil.

I highly recommend the 4-16 x 50 true hunter from utg, just make sure to crank the ring bolts down. I have the scope "walk" back around 3/8" due to powerful double recoil

so this isn't a top of the line air rifle. But having said that, for what you pay its amazing super accurate, loves h&n baracuda pellets, or anything around 10gr.

Ok I get the previous "china" comment, but they only make parts there, gun is assembled in America. Only issue is rear sight and scope it comes with. I removed both as after 70 shots it was still all over the place. Get a better scope!

Small game hunting has begun in my state and already I've bagged two red squirrels with this air rifle. My first shot I used the crosman pointed pellets 7.4gr and put it right into the heart/lungs with a one shot kill. Earlier today I took a huge male red squirrel using the Crosman copper magnum 10.6gr pellets. One shot to the head and another squirrel down for the freezer! The Crosman Vantage has been an amazing air rifle to this point. Consistent accuracy and power makes this a reliable small game hunting rifle. I do believe with proper shot placement this could anchor a raccoon with a head shot!
