Amazing for bread baking!

Bought this last year as a treat with my dividend specifically for the purpose of bread baking and I gotta say it's a total dream. I know most people use enameled cast iron for their bread but I knew I wanted a dutch oven regardless and it's been long enough now that I can say I am completely happy with it. The size is also just right for medium-large loaves! Cast iron is cast iron so it's hard to mess up and you now exactly what you're getting so to be honest there's not much to say if you know you like cast iron. Season it well and have at it, it's also a great size for stews.

Lid causes ash in the food

Bought this item before the picture of it was posted. The lid that comes with it is one for just covering food and is not intended for piling coal on top. With out the ridge going around to hold the coals ontop you must clean the lid off very well or else ash gets in the pot. So long as you do not intend to use it as a true Dutch Oven then it should be fine. Its just a cast iron pot with a lid. No I would not recommend this to a friend that wanted a Dutch Oven. Cast iron pot to cook camp beans in yes.

This is the best ever.

I use this Dutch oven in my home routinely. I have given away a pricey, name brand enamel Dutch oven because it didin't match up to this one and just took up space in my cabinet. High quality, made in the USA, and the heat is evenly distributed. My neighbors borrowed it for camping and said it was a really good fishpot. They have since bought one of their own.

Avid camper’s best friend

We just bought this Dutch oven to take camping with us and were so stoked that we could cook up a pot of gumbo with ease on the campfire. Everyone should add this item to their camp box!
