I ran a head-to-head comparison of AAC 77gr OTM against Barnes and Nosler 77gr match ammo out of the same rifle on the same day, under the same conditions. Both the Barnes and Nosler ammo consistently produced sub-half MOA groups, proving their reliability and precision.
Unfortunately, AAC’s performance was extremely underwhelming. The best group I could get was just over 2 MOA, and average groups were in the 3 to 4 MOA range—completely unacceptable for a load marketed as match-grade. No amount of careful shooting could overcome the inconsistency. Same rifle, same setup, same conditions—only the AAC failed to deliver.
This isn’t match ammo—it’s barely acceptable for general use. Spend the extra and go with Barnes or Nosler.
Unfortunately, AAC’s performance was extremely underwhelming. The best group I could get was just over 2 MOA, and average groups were in the 3 to 4 MOA range—completely unacceptable for a load marketed as match-grade. No amount of careful shooting could overcome the inconsistency. Same rifle, same setup, same conditions—only the AAC failed to deliver.

I have had great experiences with this ammo in the past. Unfortunately the new batches are much slower. The old batches gave me 2600fps with . 75 moa groups and the new batches are going 2450fps with group sizes ranging from 2. 25 to 3 moa.

Overall this is good ammo for a good value.
This review is based off of shooting a Colt M4A1 with a 14. 5in SOCOM Barrel with a Trijicon TA 31 ECOS Optic
Pros. This ammo grouped very well. Shot it in a know distance range out to 500 meters and the groups at all ranges when I was calling wind appropriately were very good.
Pushed it to 800m on a steel target and got 7/9 hits with that 14. 5in barrel.
Cons: I am ocd and clean my rifle after everytime I shoot and noticed this ammo is significantly dirtier than what I have been shooting.
Compared to other ammo where my ejection pattern is at the 3-4 O’Clock. This ammo was consistently ejecting at 1 O’Clock with a standard carbine buffer spring and a H2 buffer.
I tossed in a Sprinco Hotwhite (intermediate power spring) and a H3 Buffer and that seemed to tame it down a bit. I am thinking I will likely have to use springco’s blue spring if I run a suppressor on this rifle.

Cameron with PSA has confirmed to me through email that they changed the powder on this load and it slowed it down >250fps. He claimed they don’t have time to change the website to reflect the real velocity numbers! I was only getting an average of 2470fps out of a 18” white oak barrel. The same barrel shot IMI 77gr at 2801fps average… so it not the barrel, it’s the crappy ammo they are selling with false advertising! Notice it’s always on sale?… they are trying to dump their crap ammo on its customer! Bad business ethics! Are they Democrats???

Palmetto State and AAC are the unsung heroes of the Everyman gun owner. @ 50yd, through my 11. 5” Sig Spear LT, with an unmagnified Aimpoint T2, the illumination dialed down as low as possible yet the dot still bigger than the bullseye, it STILL puts multiple impacts nearly touching in the bullseye. In the picture, you can see I took 2 shots at a random piece of cardboard, at what I perceived to be the center, and the holes are touching. Granted this is out of a high quality weapon, with a high quality trigger (Geissele SSA-E), but the fact that ammo for 62 cents a round gets these results is, to me, absolutely stunning.

My LWRC DI with a 1/7 twist barrel really seems to like this stuff. Shot a couple groups at 50 yards just for a quick test. I was on a bipod with a rear bag so there could have been a flyer or 2 that were on me but i was happy with the results.

This ammo is a bit more accurate than the AAC 77 Sierras that Palmetto sells and is hard to get some times. The current sale price for this is $10. 99 a box . . wow. I also buy the Sierra 77gr projectiles and make my own version of the MK262 that shoot sub moa 5 shot groups. With this ammunition Ive shot several 5 shot groups from a MK12-0 clone(1/7) and NONE were greater than 3/4" at 100 yards. on a bench with a bi-pod, low wind. I also shoot this ammunition from a Daniel Defense MK18 RISII 10. 3" barrel 1/7 with an EOTECH and get sub 2" at 100 yards. with a sand bag on a bench low wind.

I was going through the ammo, I purchased a little of 3k rounds and a lot of the casings were dented, extremely discolored, and I was even missing a round on one of the last boxes I was putting into ammo cans…. That made me question my whole existence as to if I was shorted anymore because I was just opening and dumping them into cans while watching tv. I just hope they shoot better than they looked

Solid ammo. Goes bang every time. Great accuracy out of a 11. 5 Geiselle. 1/2 inch @50 yards. Shot a 5 shot string under a garmin chronograph. Single digit ex spread and std dev. Next box hit 46. It appears aac is getting the consistency better. Not great but a no brainer for the money w 77 gr lethality.

So far, so good. I've only fired about 40 rounds from different rifles. My PSA with Ballistic Advantage 18" fluted barrel shoots this stuff under MOA so far. My other Aero Precision rifle isn't as good, but it is struggling trying to find it's balance since I screwed with muzzle devices, suppressors etc.

Accurate ammo. Gave it four stars because out of 40 rounds, I had three failures to fire. I loaded up some AAC 69g otm and it ran great. No failures to fire. I compared the primers between the 77g otm and 69g otm, they both had hard hits and looked identical. So it’s safe to say it’s not a hammer spring issue. I then ran winchester 55g 5. 56 with no failures.

Bought two boxes at a strangely good price for 77otm, but they cut corners with QC. One round has a badly deformed casing. A little disappointing without even going to the range and would highly suggest hand inspecting each AAC round before firing. I really wanted to give these a try as my next match ammo, but now I'm a little hesitant about placing bulk orders. Might update the review after going to the range and seeing if the QC issues effect the accuracy of the rounds. 1/40 rounds being defective isn't horrible, but it's only the second defective round I've seen after buying and shooting thousands of rounds from different manufacturers. Hopefully it was just a fluke, but I've heard about PSA QC issues. I guess we'll wait and see how PSA addresses their QC problem.

My 10 shot 1. 883 inch group at 300 yards with 8x scope speaks for itself.

I gave it 2 instead of 1 star due to price. However, lot SCL1EA151 resulted in 2. 25" groups with an SD of 50. 2 and ES of 156. 4 after 15 rounds. There were 6-7 rounds in the string that caused the data and groups to result in that. I will be asking to have lots swapped out or just to have a refund on this particular lot. Now, the AAC 140gr 6. 5cm purchased along with this did great. Low ES and single digit SD. Seems to be isolated to the 77gr 5. 56 for me.
