To exhaust air or CO2 from the rifle- you need to purchase the degasser tool.
The gun is warrantied for 1 year- but the hand pump has a 90-day warranty.
Get into precharged guns at an unheard-of price and also get the accuracy of an expensive European rifle!
Benjamin has bridged the gap and taken the pain out of PCP guns. Not only is this as low a price as you'll ever find on a PCP/hand pump combo- but it's so easy to pump up that a wispy teenager could do it!
If you prefer to use a scuba tank instead of the hand pump- you'll need a scuba tank adapter with hose and a female quick-disconnect with male threads. The last item already comes with this kit. The adapter fits tanks with a K valve. The air reservoir has a male Foster fitting.
The Discovery has raised the bar for PCP guns because it uses only 2000 psi of air. While the European companies race toward higher and higher air pressures- Benjamin is going the opposite direction and making it easier than ever to use a hand pump. If you want to use a scuba tank or carbon fiber tank- you can do that- too- and get the benefit of many more fills than you would from a gun that operates with 3000 psi. The Discovery gives you a choice! The air reservoir is 135cc.
The gun comes with a hardwood stock (14" length of pull)- Williams fiber optic front and rear sights- and a built-in air pressure gauge. Included in the package is a hand pump that's easy to use and very clear on showing you when you've reached maximum operating pressure. Airgun Depot Review
We tested the Discovery PCP and boy, have we been impressed! We were up and shooting in less than 5 minutes. PCP airguns have been way too complicated in the past with a vast assortment of probe adapters, pumps, attachments, hoses etc. With the Benjamin Discovery everything has been simplified. Simply hook up the gun to the pump, give it about 100 pumps to fully pressurize it and your're ready to shoot. We were able to get about 35 full power shots before the FPS started to drop off. That's enough for any hunt or pest control outing. Another aspect of the gun that really impressed us was it's accuracy. Groupings were well under 1 inch even out to 50 yards! you can expect .3" groups at about 25 yards. We also liked the fact that you can leave this air rifle charged so it's ready to go whenever you are. It's actually better for the airgun to have pressure in it. We mounted our test rifle with a Centerpoint 3-9X40 scope with illuminated reticle and with this scope the gun is a joy to shoot. No recoil and near hole through hole accuracy at 25 yards. The gun is lightweight at just over 5 lbs and with a scope mounted it brings it to about 6 lbs which makes for easy handling and enjoyable shooting. If you're looking for a great gun for pest control or small game hunting this is the rifle for you. It's also a fun gun to just plink around the yard with.

This is a great little gun i can't seem to put it down. lol If you are thinking about getting it go ahead I can guarantee you will love it. I've made clean kill shots at 50 yards with no problems and targets out to 80 yards this is truly a good set up straight out of the box.
Pros
Everything about it!
Cons
None
Like the size and the weight, feel good just to hold it.Bought this gun for back yard pest control but can not use it due to loud noise..I have neighbors all around.Don't know if the gun is leaking or not,I lost about 250 psi or more in 24 hours.Love the way it shoot..penny sized group @ 25 yards every time.
Pros
Good looking little gun and shoot very nicely...thank you.
Cons
The gun is loud and seems to be leaking.
I bought my Benjamin Discovery on one of AD's "Lightning Deals" for about $75.00 less than a computer's list price. I LOVE THIS GUN. I just got into airguns about a year ago (not counting my Benjamin pump I had as a kid). I first bought a Umarex Octane which was hard to cock, heavy, and difficult to shoot accurately. Then bought a Crosman Vantage, which was a AD refurb "Lightning Deal" which I liked much better. I kept reading about the Discovery and determined that I needed one. I jumped on it when AD did the lighting deal. It is much lighter than the break barrels, and easier to shoot more accurately. FYI I got the 177 caliber. I did put a TKO muzzle brake on it which quieted it considerably.
Pros
Price. Light weight, accuracy. I have read complaints about the trigger but I like mine fine. The included pump works great. I am 74 years old with a bad back, bad knees and severe corporal tunnel syndrome in one hand and I have no problem pumping it to 2000 psi. About 50 slow steady pumps from 1000 to 2000. It is not pellet picky. Can get sub .300 five shot groups at 15 yards with JSB Exact Monster Diabolo 13.43; slightly over .300 with Crosman Premier 7.9 HP, and similiar groups with a couple other brands and weights of pellets.
Cons
A longer hose on the pump would be good. If someone would offer an optional longer hose I would happily purchase it. Other than that everything else is great.
I like this benjamin discovery air rifle
Pros
Dear sir,
I need a purchase benjamin discovery .177 Caliber
It's my dream.
But Is it possible, becouse I lived in India, Kolkata-121
Please reply me...
I love this .22 cal model (Benjamin Discovery) I ordered this one because I test fired one with a suppressor on it. Great pellet rifle, Accuate right out of the box with only minor adjustments to the rear sight.
Pros
15-20 accurate shots per filled pump.
Cons
Absolutely none!!
This gun has been extremely accurate and is very light to carry. A lot of fun to shoot. Very accurate at 120+ yards. I added a 4-16x50 scope and a bipod to the gun.
Living in Ill.to buy a .22 airgun you need a foid card and have del. To a licensed dealer. The disco cannot be found at any stores even in .177. a.g.d had the best price on the pump combo including the $ 25 ffl fee. 150 pumps from zero to 2000psi. 50 from 1000 to 2000 psi. 15 power shots from 2000 psi. At 20 yds. I am 71 and have no problem with the pump even with a bad back. Two weeks with gun. Installed tko ldc. Gun was loud as stated in specs. But not now. New trigger and old 3x9 simmons scope. I also installed a longer hose on the pump. Being an rso. For many yrs. At a outdoor rifle and handgun range I get a great deal of trigger time in but at home the disco is a more logical solution with limited range for pest control and safety.
Pros
Quality. Fit and finish. Shoots well. Scope holds zero where my springers not so well. Price with my mods about $ 500, but remember it shoots great right out of the box.
Cons
None so far
Put a TKO brake on the day I got the rifle. Made it so quiet its about as loud as spitting. I have my Brunson scope set one click up and left to make up for trigger pull and with that Im getting squirrel head shots at 40 ft. and got the Easter Bunny walking at 80 ft. Read about people not liking trigger . Mine is better than a Mil spec M4 trigger. Could be a little smoother but that might come later. The iron sights that come stock are great, nice bright green. The rifle is so light , very easy to hold standing on target. Didnt care for the pump at first , but then I got a good way standing that works for me. Torn up shoulder from Iraq made the last 20 pumps painful, but found a good way standing keeping arms straight and it was easy. The pump weighs more than the rifle! After I put the brake on it kinda looked like a 3/4 scale M14
Pros
Light , accurate , kills varmints n'such, looks cool.
Cons
Only thing Ive found is getting the pellet into the breech. Its not easy because the pellet seems to flip over or on an angle almost every time. Im getting better at it after about 60 shots. I do a lot of physical work so my hands and fingers arent exactly small and frail. The thick skin and callus on my fingers handling a .22 cal pellet is like having gloves on.
I have been shooting air guns since I was 12 years old I am now 59. I got the 22 cal. Discovery. and then bought the Leapers UTG 1.25-4x24 Tactical Scope. It is the best Pellet gun that I have ever owned and I have had some very good ones. My brothers all ways like to compete. The first time they saw my Benjamin they wanted to bet for a steak dinner on who got the most squirrels. I ate free that night.
Pros
very light weight. shoots the recommended discovery pellets very nice. great knock down power. Knocks them out of the trees and a good dog will get the squirrels before they can run off. If it is not a immediate kill shot.
Cons
I found that it shoots best at full power. When it starts getting a little bit into the green it losses accuracy. So I load air pressure just a hair into the yellow. And sighted it in at full power.

Scott from USAeveryone talks about the suppressors. Where do you buy them. I don't even want to take delivery of this gun without one.
asked RichardHi: I went online after reading reviews and found TKO ( www.tko22.com ) Just google TKO and you will find all kinds of information. Mine will be delivered today. I need to install it before I can do much shooting (neighbors) If you watch the videos on youtube, you will see it is a very easy process to install. Best regards GEB
gaylyn from USAAn outfit called TKO Airguns seems to get the most buzz for muzzle brakes on the Disco .22. It's a $50 part with pretty straight forward install except for the modification of the fill port cap.
Roy from USAThe TKO muzzle brake is a great and rather inexpensive purchase and a great job making this gun more backyard friendly.
Scott from USAWhat kind of pump you need to use this rifle? Is it possible to adapt the commom pump that is used to bicycle tires?
asked Daniel from USAWhen I purchased my Benjamin Discovery for $399.99, the 'high pressure' pump came in the same box, the Discovery operates on 2000 'high pressure' to pump up the gun it takes around one hundred pumps from the "bicycle type 'looking' pump", the first 30 to 40 pumps are pretty easy, as the air reservoir fills, the pump becomes harder and harder, trust me pard, using a regular bike tire pump would take 'tens of thousands' of pumps (if at all possible) to fill the air reservoir up to '2000 PSI', a bicycle pump on a bike tire will fill the tire to 34 PSI + or - within a dozen or two pumps and it doesn't get difficult at all, picture in your mind a huge 100 ton electro haul mining truck, one tire is over ten feet tall, how long would it take the average person to pump up 'one' tire using a bicycle tire pump, hundreds of thousands of pumps and several weeks working round the clock, 'maybe', same scenario, trust me, if Benjamin could have filled their Discovery Rifle with a low pressure bike tire pump, they would have sent one with the gun, just sayin! Because I have a terrible back, it's a workout for me at 55 years old to pump up the gun with the 'high pressure' pump provided, I went down to my local scuba shop and purchased an 80 cubic 'foot' scuba tank for $200.00 USD, I purchased a filling station with a 24" high pressure hose that attaches to the gun for around $80.00, the dive shop will fill my scuba tank to 3500 PSI (I get free air and yearly inspections for life) I can refill the gun in about '1' second to 2000 PSI and can refill the gun around 60 times with one fill up from the scuba tank, AirGun Depot can sell you a carbon fiber 90 cubic 'inch' tank for $299.00 which will fill your gun around a dozen times. I've tried to use as much detail describing what I've done with my PCP (pre charged pneumatic) Benjamin Discovery .22 Cal pellet rifle. I wish you well, good luck.
Wayne from USAYou need a specialized 3-4 stage pump to fill this rifle. It has a maximum fill of 2000psi, usually shoot it from 2000psi down too 1000psi. A bicycle pump will only go up too 100-120psi so not even close to enough pressure needed to fill this rifle. Hope that helps.
Mark E BreidenbaughI can't see anyway to possibly adapt a common bike pump. The pressures are too high. We're talking 2,000 psi here. The supplied pump moves much less volume per stroke, but at much higher compression. I haven't tried using CO2 yet.
Roy from USANo the gun requires 2000 PSI , bicycle not able to put out that kind of pressure
Greg from USAwhere can I buy one refurbished?
asked bradford from USA1. Type the product you want in the search bar, for example "discovery" 2. On the left pane, choose air gun type - air rifle to narrow down your search 3. Choose the product you're interested in 4. Most of the time, refurbished products are "out of stock" due to its low price. You would want to sign up on the email notification on the right side of window. I got my CP99 Compact after receiving notification by email at $39.99 which is much cheaper than regular price $69.99.
Kevin from USAWhat and how much does it cost to adapt this to scuba tank re-fillable. Thanks. Mike
asked MikeArcher Airguns sells a Ninja tank with a Ninja 2000 psi regulator for about $300. The 2000 psi regulator prevents over filling. On my list.
san from USAYou can find them for about $100 and up.
Casey from USAHow are some other ways I could refill this gun? Can I use a air compressor?
asked Daniel from USAYes u can use an air compressor as long as it produces 3500psi or more. Just make sure u have the right hose and foster release and a psi regulator wouldn't hurt either.
justinHow accurate is the 900FPS claim? With what pellet weight?
asked Randol from USAMy gun is most accurate with the JSB Heavy 18.13 grain pellet. I am averaging 796 fps with this pellet. My Discovery doesn't really like the 14.3 grain pellets from Crosman or Benjamin. I stick with JSB Exact Heavy 18.13 grain for extra power delivered to the target. One other pellet that shots great in my Discover is the Kodiak 20 grain pellet. I am talking .38" groups at 15 yards with both the JSB and Kodiak. I have made kills on Doves from 64 and 93 yards that were measured with a range finder. I suggest you get an AO scope with Mil-Dot, and a program for your smart phone called Chairgun from Hawke.com. You should also learn to calculate distance using the Mil-Dots and the size of the targets. Taking out large crows at 60 yards with head shots is very doable, but if hunting like that I suggest also getting a refill tank of some kind. Pumping up the gun in the field usually ruins the hunt. :)
JerMy .22 Disco really likes 14.3g Benjamin hollow point pellets. I am seeing around 815 FPS for around 22 FPE and I get nickel sized groups at 33 yards.
Joe from USALike all air guns, the velocity will vary with pellet weight. Heavy pellets will shoot slower, but have more kinetic energy; lighter pellets will shoot faster but with less EK. This is counter intuitive but due to more efficient use of energy. Spring guns are opposite.
Billthis air gun is very accurate with almost any kind of pellet but most accurate with crosman 14.3 at 50 yards under hitting at a quarter it never miss under 50 yards....
chiazong from USA
If you use your index finger on the bolt handle close to the bolt it will never break. I got a trigger modification video on U-tube which allows me to adjust the pull. I like a very light trigger, and at 25 yards it is now a nail driver.
Pros
It is light weight. At 2000 pounds it is relatively easy to fill with the three stage hand pump. The stock on mine has a beautiful grain pattern. The sights are easy to see and line up.
Cons
The trigger pull is two heavy. The bolt handle is two small where it screws into the bolt.
