We stayed for a long weekend. The location itself is lovely and peaceful, and we really enjoyed the natural surroundings. Fortunately, we are very self-sufficient with our camping setup, which allowed us to still have a good time.
That said, if we hadn’t been so well-prepared, we would have been incredibly disappointed. The facilities are in serious need of an upgrade, they were barely functional, extremely dirty, and unhygienic. The showers were completely unusable and the toilets were in poor condition. We also had to rely on our own hand soap, as there was none available on site.
Unfortunately, due to the state of the amenities, we wouldn’t return

This place was such a good spot, had multiple sites to choose from with available toilets, accessible toilets water, camp fire pits and flat surfaces to set up camp. There was even a nice river perfect for summer.

Pros:
The camping spots are spacious, and have its fire pits.
Easy access and close to Sydney.
Dogs allowed.
Good place for big groups gathering.
Cons:
The toilets are dirty and outdated.
Noisy campers till late night.

Location was great on the river bank!
Alittle bit of rubbish from previous campers but we tidied up when we got there and set up
View of the river from our camp site was incredible

It’s a nice little inland camping area but gets too muddy and toilets/showers are super dirty, no point in showering because you’d just get muddy and dirty again haha, if facilities are updated and upkept then would recommend

Overall 3/5. We had a great experience.
Quiet & secluded, with the occasional bike exhaust sounds from across the mountain.
Owner was nice and welcoming.
Lots of bird noises in the Morning.
Many bush turks.
Almost 20 fire pits and big private camp ground. Somewhat unlike the pictures in some ways in terms of imagination.
However,
Toilets can definitely do with a make over / clean.
Male toilets had no lights or shower, unlike the women side. Both had half their toilets unfuctional or blocked off

I loved Bielany campground. Great weather, swimming in the Colo River was refreshing. Hosts Rick and Cass were great, very friendly and helpful. Great that I could take my pooch too. I highly recommend this camp ground.

Nice spot to relax, camp sites big enough to not feel crowded despite a busy weekend. Loved the dog friendly aspect, our 6 month old pup loved it too!

The host was extra friendly and let us pick which site we wanted.
River was crystal clear and so clean. We sat on our camp chairs in the river and just enjoyed the beauty of it.

The men's toilet and shower facilities require significant improvements to enhance cleanliness, functionality, and overall comfort for users. In particular, the toilet in the men's section needs more attention, as it requires additional upgrades to improve hygiene, maintenance, and user experience. Great location, close to our home. Sites well maintained and access to the beautiful sandy bottomed river a bonus for young children as it’s not too deep. Also suits floats and kayaks/canoes. Family campground. Will definitely be back.

The campground is ok, but it wasn’t our cup of tea.
Most camp sites are very close to the driving tracks, which is less than desirable. Space was a bit of an issue.
The grass was quite long at the camp sites and could really do with a mow to make sites more comfortable for customers (so they can see snakes etc). A little bit of effort in this regard would make a big difference.
The amenities were pretty gross and had a strong odour of sewage. We didn’t want to use them.
There were uncovered power cords running across the driving tracks, which seemed pretty unsafe.
Full disclosure… we have a 6m caravan which is not “off-road” so the site presented some significant challenges for us. I’d say the site is best for tent campers and those with off-road caravans. I really wouldn’t recommend it to people with normal road vans. We didn’t some minor damage due to clearance issues etc.

I loved my experience at Bielany Campground. It was just my dog and I on this trip. Richard gave me a quick run down on where everything was such as the toilets, showers and explained the different levels of the campsite, river access etc, then left me on my own.
I had the perfect campsite , level ground surrounded by bushland and a very short stroll to the river. I couldn't even see or hear the other campers there. I was looking for a quiet serene picturesque getaway to unwind and I wasn't disappointed. I'll definitely go again and recommend others to as well.

Next to the river which is shallow for kids but some part also deep enough to rinse yourself on a hot day. The swing to the water is a big plus. We had a wonderful time camping there. Thank you

Highly recommend, it’s great for groups. We had around 6 people with 5 cars and we fit them all in with heaps more room for tents etc. Theres a town 30 or so minutes out so you can buy what you need there as well as pop in for coffee as well as explore the shops.

Excellent camping, plenty of space to set up. Easy access to the river which is a great place to swim. Really useful fite pits and space for your own grill.
Basic amenities, flushable toilet. Quite rustic but was a fun campsite. Perfect for families. Is also popular but I found I could find a quiet spot.

Like the camping, but no spots with Colo River views here if that is what you are after. There are several access points through 5-10 metres walk through bush to the river - close ish your camp

Lovely spot next to the Colo River. It has everything that you need from a camp site. Private river access, beautiful nature, fire pits, plenty of space, basic amenities. Great value for money!
