Great Stock
Fits great,fits well, but throw away the plastic bullet that comes with it.
I used a flat bladed screwdriver to hold the spring down to install.
You can look up the install procedure on youtube. Just search for Magpul STR install

This is my go to carbine stock
What's not to like about this stock? It has a comfortable cheek weld, battery storage, and it has the tension lever so it doesn't rattle. I've used this on every AR build I've done. I hope magpul never discontinues this product.

Product Info for Magpul Industries STR Mil-Spec Carbine Stock
The Magpul Industries STR Mil-Spec Carbine Stock is a drop-in replacement stock for your favorite AR-15/M4 carbines using mil-spec receiver extension tubes. These AR15 Stocks by Magpul Industries feature two water-resistant battery storage tubes located on either side of the stock and are accessible in any stock position via a removable rubber plug. This Magpul Industries STR AR15/M4 Stock features a shielded operation lever and a supplemental friction locking system to prevent accidental operation and to minimize excessive movement providing enhanced weapon stability and accuracy. Incorporating two integral sling loops and a reversible push-button QD sling mount, this Magpul Rifle Storage Buttstock is a must have!

Features of Magpul Industries STR Rifle Stock w/Storage, Fits AR-15/M4, Mil-Spec, Black MAG470BLK:
- Mounts on mil-spec sized carbine receiver extension tube not included from manufacturers such as Colt, Armalite, S&W, LMT, and others please see the note below
- Two water-resistant battery storage tubes located on the left and right sides of the stock
- Each tube will store up to two 2 CR123A lithium or AA batteries
- Tubes are accessible from the rear in any stock position via a hand-removable rubber plug
- Supplemental friction lock minimizes accuracy robbing wobble*
- Premium chrome-silicon lock spring provides positive locking and long service life
- Sloping cheek weld provides a wide contact surface for user comfort
- Shielded release latch prevents snagging and accidental operation
- Replaceable 0.30 in Rubber Butt-Pad offers an anti-slip surface and increases impact protection
- Compatible with Magpul ASAP, ASAP QD, and other receiver-mount sling attachments
- Sling Mounts
- Rear - Reversible Type 1 Sling Mount fits up to 1.5 in push-button QD swivels swivel not included
- Rear/Bottom - 1.25 in sling loops
- NOTE: There are two basic sizes of M4 Carbine receiver extensions buffer tubes: mil-spec and commercial-spec. If you have a commercial-spec extension on your rifle, make sure to order the Commercial-Spec STR.
