Technical Overview
Sinch 2.5 ships as a Class II ebike, with pedal assist and throttle. Sinch 2.5 will also operate with the throttle unplugged and removed, should you want to ride in an area where throttles are prohibited. Aventon ebikes are built to the IPX4 water-resistant standard. IPX4 means that your bike is resistant to water splashes from any direction. This means it’s OK to ride your ebike in light rain. It won’t be harmed by spray from a wet road or raindrops. Your ebike is not intended to be exposed to prolonged rain, be submerged, or subjected to a pressurized spray. Don’t use a pressure washer or sprayer to clean your ebike. *Max range determined using PAS Eco throughout flat terrain with a rider weight of 160 lb.

No, the display does not provide any additional features like the ones found on Abound SR. All of the ride features are the same as Sinch 2.0, but with a more aesthetic and ergonomic display.
The Sinch 2.5 comes with upgraded hydraulic disc brakes, a suspension seatpost, Shimano branded drivetrain, left hand throttle, and the new BC147 display
The addition of the suspension seatpost is a reaction to the positive sentiment received about the seat post on other models (Abound SR). It is one of the more noticable upgrades that you can add to improve ride quality, and riders enjoy the additional comfort.
Sinch 2.5 uses upgraded hydraulic disc brakes, while the Sinch 2 uses mechanical disc brakes. This was one of the most commonly requested upgrades on the Sinch 2. The hydraulic brakes offer more stopping power and better modulation. This increases overall safety, allowing riders to stop faster and more effectively.
One of the most common pieces of feedback we heard about the Sinch 2.0 is the Aventon branded derailleur and its associated shifter/throttle combo. Having a shifter/throttle combo means that if either the throttle or shifter needs to be replaced, you have to replace it's attached component as well. Going back to a Shimano branded shifter and derailleur, along with a seperated left hand throttle, makes replacing either component easier and standardized. It also makes the Sinch 2.5 compatible with other aftermarket drivetrains if riders would to change/upgrade in the future.
The new display is a sleeker, more stylish display that provides riders with more ergonomic controls and essential riding info. It is also an effort in the direction of standardization of components across future models.
In an effort to enhance a seamless riding experience, we have removed the motor cutoff sensors. Much like the majority of performance E-bikes on the market, the removal of that cutoff allows riders to have more control over the motor output and the bikes behavior overall. It also removes the need for 2 additional wires from the brake and wiring harness. Reducing the number of connections and wires ultimately reduces the number of possible failure points. It also give shops and riders the ability to swap brakes if they prefer a different brake, without needing to worry about being compatible with the brake cutoff.
Yes. Class 1 ebikes are pedal-assist only, meaning they have no throttle. By removing the throttle on your Aventon ebike, you can configure a class 2 to a class 1 ebike for trail use.
Aventon does not sell conversion kits. All Aventon bikes are already designed with electrical components, such as integrated batteries, motors, and sensors for an optimal riding experience.
Taking care of your ebike battery is an integral part of getting the most out of your Aventon ebike. Here are a few things to remember:

  1. 1. Charge your battery regularly to avoid fully draining your battery’s stored energy or voltage.
  2. 2. Use the right charger. Only use an Aventon branded and proper model charger (Be sure to place the charger brick on a flat, non-flammable surface like metal or concrete. The charger brick will conduct heat while charging.)
  3. 3. Avoid overcharging your ebike.
  4. 4. Avoid extreme temperatures. Store and charge the battery in a climate-controlled area, keeping it away from both extreme heat and cold.
  5. 5. Maintain the right level of charge. The battery should be stored at 75% charge to its health.
  6. 6. Avoid heavy loads. Do not exceed the bike’s recommended maximum capacity.
  7. 7. Keep your battery, terminal, & ports clean.

Electric bikes require regular maintenance tune-ups similar to traditional bikes and cars. To get the best performance out of your ebike, regularly check tires, tubes, chains, battery, and brakes, or visit a local bike shop for professional assistance. Performing a pre-ride safety check helps maintain your ebike, as well as staying up-to-date on non-electric component maintenance and repairs.
The torque sensor design is more intuitive for the rider at high and low speeds, it’s more efficient, has smoother power delivery, and is less prone to damage as the sensor is internal opposed to the external cadence sensor.

It’s been an awesome bike so far. Even the factory seat has been good. 25 miles in and haven’t changed it yet. Torque sensor is way better. Still wanna go faster. Only 27.5mph on flat surfaces. But really happy with purchase

Sinch 2.5 is definitely worth $100 more than the Sinch 2! I've tested both!

The Sinch 2.5 is exactly what we've been hoping for from Aventon.
