The nodular ribs give good grip and add to the rigidity, of the magazine, magazines seems durable even when dropped on concrete with a full mag load, several of my friends have inquired about these mags and seem to like them, they do have steel re-inforcements, they don't break the bank and add a little sex appeal when inserted

Cheap but may not work with your ak

Had to use a dremel to get them to fit my wasr 10. Also the bolt hold on them causes the rifle to jam up at the last 2 or 3 rounds. I knew I was taking a chance on them with the price being so cheap. No biggie. I would just stick to us palm or Bulgarian mags
