BEST AIR GUN ON MARKET TODAY AND I HAVE MANY TO COMPARE.....
Pros
EXCELLENT FUNCTIONALLY
Cons
ONLY SINGLE SHOT, RATHER AUTO REPEATER
A PLEASURE TO SHOOT, WORKS WELL
Pros
ACCURATE, WELL MADE
Cons
NO CONS
One shot, one kill accuracy and power with these. Rabbits and squirrels don't have a chance.
Pros
This is a very accurate and solidly built air pistol. So much, that we own four in our household. We've had these for years now and have never had an issue with them. We've shot and killed many squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks and crows with these. My wife even took out two full grown in-season Turkeys with her's.....both accurate head shots, out to 20-30 yards. These 2240's are totally stock, except for really nice wooden hand-grips on three of them. My wife is the better shot with these in our family.....she almost never misses. I just recently purchased a 2240XL too. Beautiful, accurate and powerful air pistol as well.
Cons
There's not a thing I would change about these.
Pros
Fast delivery well packaged
Do not buy,not accurate, get a Benjamin or Gamo break barrel
Pros
None
Cons
Piece of s#@t
I put a steel breech, target sights, a target trigger spring and a 12" barrel on my 25 year old gun. One tack driving old timer! Got the current off the shelf version so that I can also have the compact size. Both are simply wonderful.
Pros
The Crosman 2240 is one of the best air pistols on the market. It is pleasantly compact for an air pistol, while being quite potent for its size. Very accurate and remarkably reliable, I have one that was made 25 years ago that works like new to this day.
Cons
None. If you find something that you don't like, you can get aftermarket parts and modifications very readily. Super simple design allows for easy maintenance when needed.
Oil it before shooting.
Pros
A fun gun
Cons
No replacement o-rings included
Get a good Allan wrench set from Home Depot. Everything else is on eBay. Mine has a small laser mounted on the breech. This is a great platform to begin with.
Pros
Inexpensive platform to begin modifications because many up grades are available.
Cons
Things I have changed: New, and beautifully crowned 8 inch barrel. Left handed bolt in an anodized aluminum dovetail breech (lighter weight than steel). Fluted hammer with heavier hammer spring. Brass barrel band, brass caps, brass trigger, brass safety, and a brass. Max power valve with a wider, fully sealed transfer port. Now shooting 29.5 grain .22 bullets at over 420 FPS for about 12 FPE. Will fully penetrate 0.5 inches of pine at one meter (yard).
great target pistol
Pros
one of my favorites
Cons
nothing

asked Chrids MurrayCan this model be fitted with the shoulder stock as other Crossnan pistols?
asked Jim FleigerAbsolutely, the shoulder stock for the 1377 .177 version Crosman fits exactly, with only two screws . Remove hand grips and the stock fit perfectly on mine. It also improved accuracy tremendously for Long range targets. Basically turns it into a carbine type rifle when using the stock.
Steven from USACan this gun be fitted with a laser sight?
asked Bob
I'm convinced that this pistol, especially considering the price, is among the finest, and more accurate, of pellet pistols. I set up a small range in the cellar and shoot only targets for fun. Another likable option is that a 2240 can easily be modified/customized. My older eyes don't focus on open sights, and so, I ordered a steel breech kit from Crosman so that I could install a red dot sight, and now I can pretty much blast away the bullseye from 24 feet, consistently. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase of this thoroughly enjoyable pistol.
