Hatsan has notoriously bad quality control. I purchased a Hatsan Mod 95 22 cal Vortex piston model in Aug of 2020. After about a year, the piston seal started honking during the cocking stroke. In Aug of 2024 the gas ram failed. The gun was lightly shot around once or twice a month. I would have expected a lot longer life before the internals needed replaced.
Pros
Attractive Turkish Walnut Stock
Accurate when operating correctly
Cons
Quality Control Issues
Honking Piston Seal
Failed Vortex gas piston after 4 years
Well made accurate rifle
Pros
Shoots tight group at 35 yds after app 100 to 150 pellets put hawke 2-7 -32 scope on rifle really improves trigger control on other rifles I hunt a lot with a 300 Mag and 7mm mag but dont shoot a lot has helped me reacquaint with trigger control and hold
Cons
Nothing
Most the negative reviews appear to be shooter problems more than rifle problems my opinion the rifle is probable more capable than most shooters just blue lock tight all the screws give time to set including all scope and mount screws befor shooting .
Pros
Made very well shot 20 rounds no problem mounted scope zeroed in easily held zero then had to reserve around 150 rounds holding good so far have around 300 rounds now shoots very accurately very happy with it . My advice dont pay attention to the negative reviews most negative reviews I have read sound like shooter errors more than rifle problems .First thing I did out the box was blue lock tight most the screws clean and lube all moving parts and treat the stock with orange wood cleaner and polish . The wood was very dry .
Cons
The wood stock was very dry treated with orange wood cleaner and polish several times 3 actually and wipe down with rag with same after I shoot every time loos great now and heavier due to the oil in the wood not too heavy just verification needed treatment
Pros
Decent trigger.
Cons
I have had this for a couple of years. I have tried 2 different dove tail mounts, 2 different rings and 2 different scopes. I have tried every pellet the depot sells and this piece of junk will not put 2 pellets in a row close enough to dial in a scope. I have a precision scope mount kit and bags to ensure it is not my shooting. I have a cheap .22 long rifle that will put 5 shots you can cover with a nickel so it is not my shooting. Do not waste your money on this junk.
The rifle shoots very well and is very accurate. I also had to lose the scope rings and slide the scope back because the rear ring wouldn't go back far enough for me to get proper eye relief. I didn't have any issue with eye relief on my Gamo or Benjamin Marauder rifles.
Pros
Very quite. Not terribly hard to load, especially after being broke in.
Cons
Either the shipping container was not sufficient or I got a used rifle. The muzzle was missing black all around like it had pliers on it and there was a chip in the walnut stock along the bottom where the barrel breaks through.
Great product, especially for the price
Pros
Very knowledgeable staff and super fast shipping
Cons
Nothing
good comparative price
Pros
So far, so good.
Cons
scope not so hot
This was recommended to me by a supplier. I'm glad they did.
Pros
I've hit dozens of squirrels with the Hatson .22. Some up to 90 feet away with no scope. It's a very powerful rifle I recommend. The sound level is medium
Cons
The rear sight may be prone to movement. I'd suggest to Hatson to try to make it more secure. The scope that came with the gun (sometime in 1999 or 2000) was inferior with poor focus. Perhaps the scope on present ones is improved. I always shot the gun without a scope consistently thinning out the squirrel overpopulation.
This rifle is incredibly nice at this price point (199.00). The walnut stock is beautiful and the workmanship is topnotch. If you are considering this model buy it you won't be disappointed!
Pros
The rifle came very well packaged and it arrived in three days thank you airgun depot and the quality and appearance of this air rifle are top notch. I purchased the 95 vortex non qe in .22 caliber. I had a bushnell banner scope 3x9x40 that I mounted instead of the scope that came with the gun. The first shot I took was very similar to a 22 long rifle and I thought wow does this gun bark but all the shots after were similar to my gamo mach 1. Once I sighted it in with a solid hold I had one inch groups at 30 yards. I really like the automatic safety. Much nicer than the safety in front of the trigger style. The cocking effort felt like around 35 lbs which is just right.
Cons
Having a sight guard on the front sight would be nice.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product. Why don't you have the .177 version?
asked Derek from USACan someone who has purchased this rifle mod 95 Vortex QE in .22 cal recently, how is it holding up. Has the velocity diminished or has the accuracy. I am in a waiting list for over a month now and would like to know if its worth the wait. And if anyone has changed the scope for a better one for less than $100. I plan to shoot it with the open sights to break it in, before mounting in a better one. Thanks for your time and help.
asked Juan from USACan I buy this gun without a scope.
asked Douglas from USAWill it hurt the air rifle to fire it without a pellet loaded?(dry fire)
asked Kenneth from USAWhat pellets shoot the best. I would tend to a heavier pellet for hunting. and a light pellet for in buildings, where they would carry less energy to distance.
asked Gerald DyckWhat is a good replacement scope?
asked ChrisMy Hatsan 95 worked great when I purchased it....I ran about 20 rounds through it and put it away. when I took it out recently and attempted to use it, it did not expel the 22 pellet and it felt like a weak spring uncoiling when the trigger was pulled. I have had it over a year and need to fix it myself....can anyone tell me what it needs?
asked RandyI have same issue and Hatsan wants $90+ one way shipping. BUMMER !
LARRY from USAProbably a new spring/piston
John from USAWhat common sound would this gun’s noise volume be compared to when firing? And does this gun have sufficient FPE to dispatch a raccoon? Thanks.
asked Mitchell from USAHow is this different than the mod 95?
asked Shahin GransarWhat is the cocking effort of this gun?

Shout out to Airgun Depot! great service and I received my items quickly!
Pros
Out of the box I am getting great accuracy at about 35 yards plinking a 6 inch metal can. Im using H&N Excite spikes and Ive shot about 80 rounds so far. I have not mounted the scope yet. Im using the out of the box fixed sights and havent needed to adjust them! I got this for $124.99 And so far, its well worth the money I recommend!
Cons
None that Ive come across yet, but I will definitely let you know if come across any.
