Crosman 2100B

An update on the classic American air gun!
  • Code: CR2100B · .177 · 755 fps
Out of Stock
One of the most versatile airguns on the market, the Crosman 2100B multi-pump pneumatic shoots either steel BBs or .177 lead pellets. With 200 BB rounds in the gun's reservoir (17 BBs in the magazine), you'll be shooting for hours without having to reload. Just pump and shoot! If you prefer to shoot pellets, the 2100B can do that, too (loaded one at a time). As both a repeater and a single-shot, this rifle offers adaptability not found in most other airguns. If pest elimination or hunting is your bag, you can take very small rodents (at close distances) with pellets. The 11mm dovetail makes scoping the gun an easy project. Both BBs and pellets can be used to shoot targets, although steel BBs should never be shot at metal targets and objects. Pump the 2100B from 3 to 12 pumps, depending on the distance you're shooting. Light in weight, this full-size powerhouse launches pellets up to 725 fps and BBs up to 755 fps. Serious business, serious-style. It's a full size, hefty air rifle that pumps up to maximum velocity, accuracy, and excitement. This Crosman airgun should bring years of fun to the Crosman airgun owner.

this is i OK
its my first gun
its not accurate at 60 yards with BBs but you get really small grouping at 30-40
If you buy pellets, by lower then 10. grains other wise its like and airsoft gun. This gun has anther problem, when load the BB into the hand and you pump, sometimes the cover opens and all the bb fall out..
This gun is also VERY durable. I left out side for a week and i picked up the next day and it was covered in mold. I brushed it off and it worked ilk nothing happened a recommend shooting BBs

Last thing. don't be afraid to over pump your gun. u can pump it up to 20 times

I don't like the brown-colored plastic on the forearm and buttstock (is it supposed to make me or others think it's really wood?). The all-black color scheme of the Legacy 1000 is much nicer, in my opinion, and I would love to have it on this rifle. The receiver, trigger guard and trigger on the 2100 are made of metal (unlike the Legacy), giving me a much stronger impression of overall quality. I prefer this rifle to the Legacy 1000 by a long shot! Pretty nice shooter. Shop around for best price.

Pros
Inexpensive. Accurate. Adjustable rear sight (mechanism to change windage same as Legacy 1000 (awful)). Nice Weight. Nice handling. Reasonably powerful (comparable performance to most other variable pump pneumatic air rifles around $60.00-$100.00).

Cons
Mechanism to change windage on rear sight is pretty terrible, although it works for small adjustments (worse than that on most comparable variable pump pneumatics). The rifle is harder to charge than other variable pumpers and inexplicably requires 12 pumps for full power rather than 10. Neither the extra effort nor the extra pumps increases the performance. Using the same pellets, my Legacy 1000 and 2100 Classic outperformed my Umarex NXG APX. Both were comparable in performance to my Daisy 880 and Barra Sportsman 900, but all were outperformed by my Winchester 1977xs. Test results based on total number of cardboard sheets penetrated in side-by-side testing on same pellet trap. The extra effort (and extra 2 pumps) necessary to power up the rifle provided no corresponding increase in performance at any power level. It isn't super-hard to pump up, but it does require more effort than any other .177 pumper I own (Umarex NXG APX, Barra Sportsman 900, Daisy 5880, Winchester 1977xs).

Use blue loctite on all your screws for the scope rings etc. When I read these reviews and folks can’t figure out why there scope keeps coming loose and they lose their zero...it’s because you didn’t use blue loctite on all the screws...go to the hardware store and buy a little tube..it’ll change your world. Lol. Just a little tip for all the folks who don’t know all the little tricks.

Pros
I got a 2100 for Christmas 30 years ago when I was eleven years old. It was a shooter...but eventually it broke and was thrown away. We would shoot squirrels , head shots at 50+ yards...let me tell you...it was an accurate air rifle. Couple months ago I purchased another one at an auction, brought it home only to find out it leaked air. 1call to Crosman and I had spare parts on order. Disassembled it put in a new valve assembly, pump cup and some Orings ... it is now a shooter with RWS superdomes. 5 shot groups in one hole at 25 yards. 50 yards (not feet) and the holes are touching. Took it out to 65 yards at my range in my backyard and this thing is amazing. I always think it’s funny reading about people claiming great accuracy at 10 or 15 feet. If you can’t put holes through holes at 10 feet something is wrong. Anyhow, my brother was in the army and was the # 1 shot amongst all the other guys/gals. When asked how he learned to shoot so well...Crosman 2100. True story.

Nothing

I'm very impressed that Crossman has continued to produce this rifle at such a good price point. It is very accurate. With open sights I can hold a 1" circle at 25 yards. I mounted a 4x32 scope and am able to shoot 1" or less offhand at 25yards, and from the sitting hit 2" targets at 40 yards with Crossman Premium 7.4gr pointed pellets. Off a bench I was able to shoot a .5" group at 25 yards. The 7.4gr wadcutters were not as accurate, with an occasional flier, but the pointed pellets have been solid over 100 rounds.
The reciever is metal, and that makes the scope mount very solid. The trigger is metal, and has a good feel, but has a long travel but is usable. The only think keeping this from being the best rifle ever is the lack of wood stock option and ability to upgrade barrels.
At 6 pumps it shoots perfect at 20 yards. 10 pumps is enough for 40 yards, and can still penetrate a steel can.
This is a great value and I'm proud that it is made in the USA!

Pros
Very accurate, solid build quality, and made in America! This rifle is a tremendous value.

Cons
A custom shop wood stock and high grade barrel options would be worth it.

I would not recommend this air rifle.

Pros
None

Cons
Stock is cheap plastic that broke after a couple of uses. It felt cheap out of the box and only last a couple of months leaving me and my son very disappointed.

I purchased two of these in order to introduce my children to the joys of shooting.

NOTE: The owners manual provided with the Airgun states that the minimum number of pumps is 3 and the maximum is 8. The box that the rifle comes in states that the minimum number of pumps is 2 and the maximum is 12. I'm unsure which is the correct information. To be safe I have only pumped the rifles up to 8 pumps.

Pros
Unlike many pump airguns this one has a metal receiver and having a durable gun for children to use is a huge pro for me. It took only a few shots to site these guns in with the open sights and are very precise shooters. I sited them in with Crosman Competition Wadcutters, which have traditionally performed quite well in my airguns. The variable amount of pumps that can be used to power these guns is nice. This allows my kids to pump them up for higher power when hunting and lower power when plinking cans or targets.

Cons
The BB insertion mechanism on the bottom of the stock seems a bit flimsy. After usage by my children it may become loose and dump BBs out. The open sights provided with the gun seemed like they needed a bit more flexibility. After siting them in I had each set of sights too close to the edge of their ability to actually provide further adjustment. As an adult the action where the pellet is inserted (single-shot tray) is small and must be dropped into place rather than placed. After 20 shots this wasn't really an issue, but I also have small fingers as an adult. Someone with larger fingers may find this to be problematic.

I have had my 2100 classic since I was 12...... I’m 43 now and it still works as good as it did back then.... In fact I just dealt with a bird yesterday that was pecking a hole in the side of my house. I have even taken full size rabbits with a carefully placed head shot. I have probably shot thousands of bb’s and almost as many pellets through this thing over the past 30+ years. Pumping these things is a good workout too....These guns rock!

Pros
Longevity, much needed exercise (lol)

Cons
Loading a pellet into the chamber with my big fingers is annoying

Mine came with a slightly loose barrel where it connects to the receiver. It wont effect accuracy but if you use a scope it will.I was going to send it back but fixed it with my own method I wont share because it requires skill to do.No problem now.

Pros
It has good power,is easy to cock and bluing is excellent.Good price.

I was searching Crossman 2100 to find the optimal # of pumps and found this site. I'm surprised and delighted to see it still on the market.

I bought this gun in 1988 to shoot rats in the backyard of our 1st house. I use it now to sting deer out of the yard of my current and probably last house. It has seen maybe 200 pellets of use over the years. I never shot BBs and somewhere along the way the BB door fell off and is gone.

I've never gone more than 4 pumps. 3 has been enough for rats and I only use 2 on the deer. But if the deer keep eating my flowers, I'm going to at least 6!

Damn...time flies.

Pros
Longevity

Cons
The stock is made for smaller people. It could be longer for full sized adults.

if I'm only shooting bbs, does it matter if the rifling wears?

asked carter from USA

Even at an inexpensive $70.00, if there's a chance of damaging the rifling by using steel BBs, I'm going with pellets only. I bought a wooden stocked Crosman with my own hard-earned dough when I was about thirteen. Pellets were hard to find, so I used BBs most of the time, far more than pellets, and by the time I was in my late teens, it was purely a matter of chance if I hit where I aimed, regardless of the ammo. I'm talking unable to hit a gallon jug at twenty feet! Why take the chance? Go with pellets only.

Bubba from USA

You would have to shoot a LOT of BBs to effect the barrel rifling...I mean a LOT over a long period of time. Even then I don't think it would hurt the barrel.

David from USA

The rifling should be fine.
