Why We Like The Barryvox Beacon
We backcountry skiers and splitboarders should know beacons like we know the back of our gloves, so Mammut designed the Barryvox Beacon with an incredibly intuitive design so we can master it quickly. It features a single switch, single button, and separate flagging button for simple, reliable handling that we got the hang of after a few beacon drills. With a triple antenna, the Barrvox boasts an impressive 70-meter digital range that's just as large as most top-end beacons out there.
The Barryvox shows distance, direction, and number of burial victims in an easy-to-see, goggle-friendly display. In search mode, the Barryvox automatically switches back into send mode if the beacon's been still for four seconds, just in case we get in an accident while looking for a victim. Mammut included alkaline batteries and a carry case that keeps the beacon close to your chest.

Easy to use and above what other brands have to offer
The range on this unit is incredible. I have used several other brands over the last few years and this unit is my new recommend after an entire season under the belt. Easy to use for even novice users and the range makes it easy to use as well with less searching. This is the unit you want people to using when they are searching for you under the snow.

Great Beacon.
This beacon is intuitive and easy to use. Works well and has the largest range of all beacons on the market. The group check feature works great. I feel confident using this beacon in the backcountry. Anyone can use this beacon but make sure you practice your rescue skills.

The best
Hands down the best on the market in my opinion. I've found during numerous practice sessions that the Barryvox range delivers or exceeds the 70m claim, where as other beacons being tested side by side barely met their claimed ranges.

Reliable and Easy to Use
Love these transceivers. They are very reliable and easy to use. Most all I know have switched to Mammut from other brands.

Easy to use beacon
This beacon is easy to use, with a very intuitive feature set. Our group uses a mix of the barryvox and the bca beacons. It was a minimal learning curve going to a barryvox from a bca and I actually like it better. The shape is different though, much more blocky than the bca trackers (3,4,and S). It just sits different in the pocket. Overall, it's a fantastic safety device you hope to not have to use.

Love my Barryvox
My Mammut Barryvox works great, I use it frequently for backcountry skiing, it functions cleanly and without issues as of yet. I have not needed it in a burial situation, and hope not to, but it provides an essential peace of mind when travelling in avalanche terrain. The harness keeps it close to me at all times, and I barely notice its there. I find the batteries last a long time, and it has no unnecessary frills. For the average person moving through avalanche terrain it provides a very effective safety solution.
