If good things come in small packages, then the R7 is a really good thing! Compact in size but not in performance, the Beeman R7 is often called the "little R1." It's that good. Other than size, there are very few differences between the R1 powerhouse and the R7. Through the double-jointed cocking lever, the R7 delivers a reduced cocking effort (almost half the R1). That makes this the perfect gun for smaller shooters, women or anyone who wants an easy-cocking spring-piston gun. The R7 is 5" shorter than the R1 and over 2.5 lbs. lighter. Don't worry about marring the finish, because the satin finish on the stained beech stock resists minor scratches. Sight up your target with the open sights, or mount a scope 11mm dovetail grooves in the receiver. The checkered pistol grip gives you a solid hold, while the rubber buttpad adds even more control. Like the R1, this gun has the famous Rekord trigger, giving you a predictable, crisp, adjustable let-off. The R7 is a German-made engineering marvel that will deliver decades of shooting pleasure.

I bought this rifle because I wanted a quality break-barrel in my collection. For the shooting I do, the R9 is too much gun. (As are most springers.) This R7 is perfect. I took this rifle out of the box, wiped it down and swabbed the barrel. I then shot five pellets through it into a target at twenty-four feet. All five pellets went through one hole. No kidding: one hole! And that was with the open sights. Don't think about it. Buy it!

Pros
Accuracy Ease of cocking Looks and feel Excellent finish Trigger

Cons
The beachwood stock is attractive and more than sufficient, but at this price point, a walnut stock should be an option. Just my thought.

Perfect fit and usability for my nine year old boy. Slight learning curve for cocking motion, but persistence pays off!

Pros
This pellet gun is well made and beautiful. In a world of plastic junk, this is what a pellet gun is supposed to be.

Cons
Not a thing.

accurate out of the box. Now using Hawke 3-9 vantage. Image from my first 3 shots today at 25 yds. Lightning must have struck me. Never have shot like that. Have less than 300 shots so far.

Pros
accuracy

Cons
shorten trigger throw, make safety so you can put on again after you have put it off, make stock for shorter people

After approx. 1600 shots, these are the chronograph results for this R7
JSB Exact 7.33gr averaged 692 fps
AA Express 7.87gr 678 fps
AA Field 8.44gr 651 fps
JSB Exact 8.44 (4.52 dia) 648 fps (4.53 dia was 641 fps, but had the lowest SD 2.9 of any pellets shot)
I have attached a sample target so you can see what to expect. This is at 10 meters, with 71 year-old eyes, and a Leopold 3x9 EFR scope.

Pros
Quality of the build is excellent! Bluing was flawless and deep. Wood was evenly stained. There was no spring buzz, just a solid thunk when firing. This one was not pellet picky but shot best groups with JSB 7.33gr and AA 7.87. JSB Exact 8.44 and AA Field 8.44, and HN FTT 8.64, and the new HN Baracuda 8, all did really well too. I now have around 1600 shots through it and it is getting smoother all the time.

Cons
Trigger pull is Excellent, but Trigger position is a little farther forward than I like. A lot of Dieseling for the first 500-600 shots, with a couple of detonations. This is somewhat normal for Beeman R series/Weihrauch guns, where lubricant gets in front of the piston seal. If it persists too long it can damage the seal.

I am glad I bought one when I did because now they are already up to $400. If you are thinking about your first airgun, then just buy the R-7 and don`t waste your money on some plastic Buck Rogers looking cheapie that shoots 1100 f.p.s. You will not be disappointed.

Pros
There is not much I would change. It is a helluva lot of quality air gun for $400.

Cons
Unless mine is defective, I would change the automatic safety. Once I take mine off, I can`t put it on "safe "again.

All in all it was worth the money and extras I bought for it. It keep my busy during the dampendic.

Pros
The It is a nice light gun and ok with open sights under the conditions listed below, It is my first and last springer.

Cons
The rear sight cannot be adjusted high enough for me to hit the point of aim. It only shoots low. Since I have trouble seeing the sights anyway, I put a truglow fiberoptic sight on the front and a Williams peep sight on the dovetail. Now it shoots ok open sight type groups up to 20 yards. I could not keep a scope still on this gun. No matter how tight, the scope migrated backwards. I have never had this problem with scopes before, even with 30-06, 270, and 3-inch 12ga slugs. The gun shakes itself loose. I constantly have to tighten the trigger guard screws. Worse, the trigger adjustment screw moves with every shot. Once the gun even discharged when I closed the barrel. The safety is not always reset when the barrel is closed.

Supplies are apparently limited. If you have the coin, buy one. You won't regret it.

Pros
I've had this gun for less than a week. I've been shooting it every day. I can't seem to shoot it enough. With open sights at 12 yrds from a bench rest it will shoot one hole groups. Today I installed a 3-12 Athlon scope. From the bench at 25 yrds it will shoot one hole groups also. I can hold the gun loose or tight but poi is the same. This little gun has far exceeded my expectations. I simply love it and love shooting it. So far I'm shooting FX 8.4 diabolos.

Cons
Absolutely nothing. Worth every penny.

Perfect air gun to introduce someone to air guns.

Pros
I have owned a R7 for 25 years. I had moved on to the High power guns, which I did enjoy for hunting and still do, but I’m back to why I bought this gun, 25 years later. What a pleasure to shoot and plink with, such an accurate and quality air gun. Fun fun fun

Cons
None

This was a great rifle when new. However, I had it in the gun cabinet for several years (~5). When I took it out to use it it would not fire with trigger. It would fire if I pressed the safety release instead of the trigger! Clarification: One cocks the gun, presses the safety release, then pulls the trigger. No good. trigger does nothing. Pressing the safety fires the gun. Trigger does nothing.I have another Beeman that also would not function after sitting in the gun cabinet for the same time. I have no idea what could have caused the guns to malfunction just from sitting in the cabinet, but for the price paid, it should not have happened.

Pros
Very good when it was new!
