Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

WATERPROOF

Rain or sun, we’re ready. Not only can you skip along streams and keep your toes dry, you can up the ante on where your travel takes you this winter, thanks to your new favorite pair, complete with a gusseted tongue.

OILED LEATHER UPPER

We’ve utilized a 100% full-grain leather with an oiled finish, that is pre-treated to be water repellent. To increase the water-repellency and extend it over the life of the shoe, we suggest using a waterproofing wax such as Otter Wax and reapplying 2-3 times per year.

IBR OUTSOLE

Our injection blown rubber outsole is what makes Lems incredibly lightweight and flexible. Deemed as the perfect travel companion, this boot can pack down to the size of your favorite puff jacket.

ZERO-DROP

Places the forefoot and heel flat to the ground correcting posture, aligning your spine, and encouraging mid-foot strike.

High quality, zero regrets
Sturdy, comfortable. I use them for work, work requires my shoes to be black. However, I am hoping for a slip and oil resistant sole in the all black soon.

Incredible comfort and durability - highly recommend. Try w/o insole or w/thin leather insole!!!!
These are some of the best shoes I've ever owned and well worth the "premium" price tag for their comfort, durability and practicality. I bought them way back in 2018 for work, which could be very punishing treatment at times. I've used them on and off for both work and daily life and they've held up crazy well for being 6 years old and counting. To be fair, I've cared for them as well as possible too, buy putting them in cedar shoe trees after removing about half the time.
Though my Boulders are waterproof, if I lace them a little loosely, they ventilate just fine and my feet never sweat. Although I thought they were extremely comfy with stock insoles, removing the original slightly-cushioned insole took their comfort and minimalist feel to another level entirely. However, it did feel a little bargain-basement to walk put my feet into direct contact with the (admittedly very comfortable) felt-like material on top of the outsole outsole , so I eventually did invest in a set of high quality non-cushioned leather inserts. With the leather insoles, my enjoyment of these boots has reached an even higher plateau. The only improvement I could imagine might be trying suede insoles next time to provide a bit of interior foot grip - although the ultra-silky feel of the high quality leather insert I'm currently using feels amazing in it's own right.
I feel silly for not having purchased another style of Lem's shoes until now, which I'm now rectifying with a sneaker purchase. Highly…

Very comfortable
Bought these for a trip to Seattle. Didn't wear them till the trip. Walked about 15 miles in 4 days in them. Had no issues. Feet were always comfortable. Toes have a lot more room than I'm use to, but not in a bad way.
