This Asolo boot is the best! Hands Down!
I bought a pair of these years ago and they are still in excellent condition and feel great. The Asolo Stynger is the absolute best boot on the planet! If you love great arch support, your heel feeling cradles, your ankles surrounded with secure support, you will love these boots. If you try them and find them too narrow, go up in size and retry. For me they were generous in length. The width is something some people struggle with, just loosen the laces, open the boot and push foot in, then tighten laces up. They fit like second skin and really support. I was never afraid of hurting my ankles in these boots. I've had ankle injuries in the past and really watch it now. these never hurt, never gave me blisters and gripped super well. Love the colors Asolo does although all REI had at the time was the universal neutral color which I guess is the most popular. My feet also never got cold or wet in the winter. These boots are an investment but they are the best and your feet will thank you.

Only lasts 6-7 years
I bought these in 2018. Wore them for short hikes. Then Covid, and family members dying, and I just remembered I had them. They’ve been kept in my closet under optimal conditions. Took them out and tried them on, and the soles immediately fell off.
Asolo admits the PU midsole is only expected to last 6-7 years. Although the sole and uppers are almost new, they can’t be glued back together because the foam midsole is totally rotted. If you can get enough use out of them in that period of time to be worth the price, go ahead. But if you are thinking of them as an investment for long term use, forget it.
I like to buy quality gear, take good care of it, and wear it out. These boots have a fatal flaw built in - a midsole that isn’t designed to last. I am done with this brand.
