Nice jacket, missing pwd skirt

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have been on the hunt for a long ski jacket and this is almost perfect. I am between sizes and sized down which feels pretty good but a bit tight in the seat when I sit down, so ladies who are a bit more bottom heavy or snowboarders who need a wider stance might size up. I was considering paring it with the primaloft anorak for very cold days but not sure there will be space for another long jacket. Overall excellent jacket I can use year round and although it takes a bit of strategy to get in and out its not that difficult. My main complaint is with backcountry.com and that it didn't come with the powder skirt! Is this a big deal? Not really. I bought it on clearance and considering the length of the jacket and fact I wear bibs it will need to be very rowdy to get snow in my pants but still, even with the clearance pricing this is still a spendy piece of kit to be missing a component.

Relaxed fit quality is great!

I’ve had my eye on this jacket since last ski season and finally bought. Quality is awesome, I can tell this will be a durable jacket for backcountry and resort riding. All the pockets are really well designed. The hood fits and zips over my helmet. It is really long, which I like but might not be for everyone. As the description says it is designed as a relaxed fit, so in my case I didn’t need to size up. The half zip is kind of a different design for getting in and out, but because both sides unzip all the way up, it’s easy to get on and off. Might be annoying for going to the bathroom with my bibs, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. I ordered both M and S because I like a looser fit, but ended up keeping the S. I’m 5’4”, 125lbs (petite on top, thick on bottom) for reference. Can’t wait to to put her to use this winter!

Picked the right size

Familiarity:

I’ve been searching for a Gortex jacked that can essentially be used year round, from my board to my hiking boots. I searched everywhere on which size to purchase and teetered between a small and a medium. I’m 5’8”, 130lbs, athletic build, few curves. Directionally I was pointed at a medium, but I didn’t want it to look puffy. I opted for the small and am glad I did. As other reviews stated, it is a little funky to get on. I have to unzip the sides to get it on. I’m not sure if this is the size issue or a design issue. Once on, the jacked looks great. I can wear my normal snowboard gear underneath and a puffy or a sweatshirt. I’m glad I didn’t go for the medium. I don’t feel restricted in the jacket and I ride rough. I hope this helps anyone trying to figure out a size. I ordered the blue, it’s beautiful! Pockets and quality are sick! Highly recommend this brand and its goal of being more eco friendly. This jacket will last, so it’s worth the price. I plan on taking it to Iceland in June.
