Great for layering or for mildly cold climates.
Very thin perfect for moderately cold temperatures or for layering under larger gloves. I like to think of it as base layers for my hands. Also in my experience they run large so I exchanged them for a size down. I’m usually a L or XL but mediums were a better snug fit for me. The fingers seem to run longer than I prefer. They are very comfortable and would definitely recommend them.
Poor Quality Black Diamond Gloves
These gloves do not hold up. There are 4 spots on the back left hand, 1 front left hand, 2 spot right that I have had to sew to get through this winter. They are an inferior product and should be removed from your sales lines!
Runs Large!
I followed Black Diamond's directions to measure my hands and determine my correct glove size. According to their size chart I needed to order a large, which I did. When these gloves came they were comically gigantic. So either I don't know how to use a measuring tape or they run much bigger than indicated by the size chart. After an a size exchange I'm happy with this product, especially the touch screen compatibility. Just be warned that they run large, it might be wise to order a size smaller than you think to save yourself the hassle of a return.
Perfect fit with warmth
These are my favorite gloves! They are the perfect weight to keep my hands warm, without too much bulk. I also love the fact they are screen tap. My hands are small, so I have a difficult time with gloves fitting either being too large, or if they fit my palm, the fingers are too long. These fit perfectly in the XS size and are a bit stretchy so it's easy to bend at the knuckle. I really like how they come up higher on my wrist too, so it helps keep snow/rain out of my sleeves, but easy to lift them to see my Garmin watch. The screen tap works better than on other gloves I have owned. Ordered 2 more pair to keep in my other coat pockets.
Amazing touchscreen response
I went to an REI store and tried on about 10 pairs of touch sensitive gloves to find the perfect pair with the best touchscreen response. I like to play Pokémon Go on my walks, so I tested the ability to catch a Pokémon and found these the best. The entire palm side of the fingers is touch sensitive and is thin enough to be accurate. The gloves are very light weight and fit great, but are cozy and keep out the wind well. Highly recommend!
They're ok
These gloves are ok - comparable to other liner gloves of this type but not really a standout. Conductivity is good and not limited to the fingertips. Gloves are heavily seamed which is good for articulation but with four thick seams per finger and two seams down each side, I found that they were uncomfortable and that the seams interfered with phone use. If you have shorter fingers relative to your palm, the fingers on these gloves may be too long. The temperature range seems accurate. Fingers were a bit chilly for the first few minutes of a mid 30-degree run but warmed up. Unfortunately, by the end they were starting to cool off again because the gloves retain sweat/moisture. They were so damp that it was not possible to end run tracking on my fitness tracker while wearing them. For anything colder or less active, using them as a liner rather than standalone gloves works better. In short, the benefits and flaws are similar to other gloves of this type. The decision has to be based on personal preferences and whether the dimensions work for your hand type.
Cheaper version than last year's model
I LOVED these gloves last year, but i lost one so I decided to repurchase. Super disappointed that Black Diamond made these gloves thinner than last year and year prior, so disappointed. Last year they had a thicker soft fleece. I took these gloves to Patagonia and Everest base camp and they were the perfect gloves, i used them every day in Chicago walking during the super cold winter. Even wet, they were warm. Going to try and file last year's model and return.
Sleek, and lightweight
Simple, well fitted gloves. The warmth level will depend on the activity. If you are moving and staying active the gloves will keep hands warm to temps well below freezing. Touch screen capability is perfect, and a welcomed feature. Durability and build quality are more than acceptable at the price range. I would recommend these gloves if you are in need of a simple, reliable pair of gloves for a range of outdoor activities in winter weather.
Good gloves
I really like these gloves. They are definitely the best I have tried when using a cell phone. I bike ride quite a bit even during the winter so it is nice to have gloves you don't have to take off to access the app I need to unlock the bikes. The fit is true to size. I have small hands and the Small size is perfect. They could be a little warmer. They are fine when I am walking around town or going to work in the cold but they aren't as good if I am bike riding in the cold and especially the wind.
Outstanding screen dexterity
I've been super impressed with some responsive my phone screen is while I am wearing these gloves. The screen responds to all fingers, and not just the tip or pad of the finger, but also the sides of the finger or thumb too. That's been the case even when my fingers are quite cold inside the gloves. These gloves are midweight and are not substantially insulated. I've been warm enough in them during strenuous exercise into the low 20s (around freezing if I'm not getting my heart rate up). I've gotten cold if it's below freezing and I'm outside for long periods, especially without moving around much. I've worn these gloves running, hiking, driving, doing errands, skating, playing casual pond hockey, and cross-country skiing. They've been good for all of these activities. Wearing these gloves made me realize how accustomed I had become to taking off my gloves a lot to touch my phone, which is no longer necessary and is tremendously efficient and keeps me much warmer. Sadly, one of the seams on one of my gloves is starting to come undone after about three weeks of lots of use. It's the seam that runs along the inside of the thumb. The hole is currently 1/4" and I will need to get it repaired before it gets much bigger. Otherwise, the gloves looks like they will hold up well. No piling at all.
