bought this gun to compare to my p-3-- trigger was bad creep & heavy--4x working it got it pretty good. chronograph 4 different pellets 5 shots each in both guns ave p-3 410.5---p-17 407.5 this was very good. accuracy very good with p-3 --fair p-17. not sorry i got the p-17 but it will never be a p-3. if you don't mind tinkering p-17 is good buy . i would buy it before i buy other guns in the $45.00--50.00 range

Cons
on this gun -trigger
Sight on rear was off of pistol and screw was laying in bottom of box.
Pros
Plenty of power, shoots straight, aims easy, and nice weight.
Cons
A little hard for big fingers! to load pellet, but getting used to it.
Be careful when you open box!!!!, my rear sight was.off and screw for sight was loose in box!!
Pros
Easy to sight in, weight is good, hit walnut on top of a post first time and beyond!
Cons
A little hard to load pellet, and the cocking mechanism is pretty stiff; but the pressure is good and I'm getting use to it.
Pros
So far I like the look and the feel of the gun. I can easily single hand shoot with either hand. It doesn't feel bulky or awkward. Even with sighting the gun I didn't have any problems. Overall this is one awesome pistol and I would tell all my friends about it, and recommend this gun
Cons
Nothing negative to input
Very much worth the money.
Pros
Very accurate for a gun at this price. Nice trigger and feels well built.
Cons
As others mentioned not easy to load. Breech area is tight to get pellet in.
Pros
This pistol is more accurate than it deserves to be for the price. It's incredible compared to other air pistols I own, and I have at least a dozen. The only pistol I have that is better is an Air Venturi V10 target gun and it cost $269! It's not that much more accurate either. If you want to learn how to shoot, get two of these and have competitions with your friends. I shoot beer cans at 50 yards with mine no problem, of course I use those RWS R-10 Match pellets which are about as good as you can get. Excellent gun that has been around forever, no charged air or CO2 cannisters or anything else to fool with. Just cock it open, insert a pellet and shoot all day.
Cons
Nothing I can think of, although I'm not a big fan of those day glo sights whatever they're called.
Maintenance issues are easy to fix. 2 allen wrenches and a pair of needle nose for tools. The main piston oring and once
had to do the valve. Superlube silicone grease. So 4 guns all have been overhauled once or twice in 9 years. used almost
3 tins of 750 count winchester pellets
Pros
Very accurate at 10 yards INDOORS. Like the German made unit, this has the good barrel. That P3 cost about $300.
Difference being the quality and trigger. Actually I like the trigger as is [there is screw to adjust it but only pull length]
for a single stage. We have 4 of them and shoot down the hall from the living room. 36 feet to a 5 inch box with rags and
paper target on front.
Cons
Contests aside, the loading and cocking is not much fun. Use a round node pellet in the barrel while opened all the way.
WATCH YOUR FINGERS AND clothes as you press it closed. About 25 lbs of force required [give or take]
Nice to have for winter shooting in the basement. I bought two for my Grandson's.
Pros
Pros: Good feel in my hand, and fits well. Sights being Fiber are VERY NICE, and much better than Original
Sights with no Fiber. Well Built Pistol, and has a Good Trigger. Easy to lube the Air Chamber and will be easy
to replace the O-Ring when it's required.
Cons
Cons: Hard to Load, until you get it figured out. Hard to Close, but it's not too bad if you rest it on
your leg and press.
Pros
Bought on recommendation. Very Accurate Pistol. Entirely satisfied

Login to ask someone who bought this product. Is the sight replaceable on thr Beeman P17
asked James from USAOk I've had bad luck I guess , I bought 1 on sale within 60 days the safety switch fell off someplace and I called Beeman they replaced the gun told me to keep the old one , now it shoots just no safety, after about a month I noticed the safety switch was gone on the 2nd gun as well anyone else have this problem?

Gabriel from USAHow does AGD allow such misinformation in these questions that have been here since 2012?
asked John Appears with your questionWhat is the difference between the Beeman P-3 and the Beeman P-17? They look identical except for price.
asked Raymond TomoryThe P3 has a much better trigger, otherwise they are almost identical and one is not more accurate than the other. The P17 trigger is a long pull with no definitive break. It takes practice to be able to predict when it will release. My P17 is probably close to ten years old and works just fine, but may be different than what is being produced today.
Lynn from USAP3 is manufactured in Germany I believe and is supposed to be better finish quality. The p 17 cost a lot less, is made in China and is not finished as nicely. I own a p17 and it is 100 percent fine.

Pros
Small compact, powerful.
Cons
Not accurate at all. adjusted the site sites all the way and it still off target 4 inches at 30 feet. maybe I’musing the wrong pellets.
