Great for those hot days out hiking
We purchased two of the personal face towels. Upon arrival, we were stunned and thought for that price, this little thin thing was all we got, no way this would collect all the sweat of an 8-mile hike in the 90-degree heat of the desert mountains. WELL, we were wrong. Very lite, easily wiped and absorbed all the sweat on our faces, and dried quickly. Way better than the bulky towels we were dragging along with us before. We highly recommend this product for wiping down your face, arms, legs, etc when out on a hot day for hiking. We just rinsed it in warm water, rung it out, dried, and ready for the next day.
Nice, but not the ultalight better version, darnit
Really bummed this is totally different than me other packtowl! Which I now realize, my other better one must be their ultralight or something. That being said it's fine towel, nice, and I got it on sale so I will keep it. However, I specifically bought it because my other PackTowl is the best travel towel I've ever had, sooo small and light, I fell in love - and after a couple years wanted a second, larger one of exactly the same stuff. That's what I thought I was getting here, but this one is totally different material and construction so be warned. It's now ringing a bell that they maybe make more than one style same brand :(.
Perfect for lap swimmers!
I received this for an upcoming big trip but I decided to start using it sooner at the gym since they don’t provide towels anymore. This towel surpassed my expectations! It looks as if it won’t absorb anything but it works shockingly well! I have thick long hair and this dried me off completely. I can’t say exactly how quickly this dries but I hung it before bed and it was completely dry when I woke up. I use the hand towel immediately after the pool and the beach towel after my full shower. This will continue to serve well at the gym as well as my travels.
Bummed it didn't come with a bag
This is my second PackTowl and I was really bummed to find that this one didn't come with the little carrying bag that my old one did. I use this as an on-the-go hair scrunching towel in lieu of my Turbie Twist when I'm traveling, and it works well for my amount of hair. I liked the carrying case because it meant I could keep the dirty towel away from my toothbrush/other items, etc. Still works, just not as well.
Suitable Camp Towel
I have used MSP Packtowels for quite a while. I like their absorbency, relatively quick dry time and how they do not retain a lot of odor. I recently purchased two of these. The first was the bath-sized towel which is a fine towel; however, it is a bit bigger than the bath-sized towel they used to manufacture several years ago. The bath-size works well at home, in hostels and car camping where you have modern shower facilities. I prefer the Hand-sized towel for backpacking due to its smaller size. This is just my personal preference. I feel the Hand-sized towel is more than adequate to dry me and is not so large. Your preferences may vary, but I am 6 feet tall and approximately 180 pounds and the Hand-sized towel dries me adequately. I do prefer the sage color since darker colors of these types of camp towels have a tendency to bleed color when you wash them in washing machine for the first few times. I was a little disappointed that they no longer come with a travel pouch, but a ziplock bag will work fine for carrying and storying it.
Bike commuter towel
I purchased this so I could throw it in my bag get to work take a shower and not have to worry about taking up space in my backpack or having a big towel drying out in the office workspace. It certainly packs up nice and small but it doesn’t dry worth anything. Used it several times at work. Got out of the shower and basically pushed water around my body. I wouldn’t recommend this for any purpose that involved collecting or soaking up water.
Replaced similar towel after 30 years!
This replaced a quick dry camp towel I had for 30 years! This new one dries about 4 times as fast. It's very long if you like that. The button snap doesn't hold as well as it could. I'm happy I finally upgraded after three decades.
Soft, Packable, & Quick Drying
Perfect for camping! Dries lightning fast and very soft! The size (body) is a bit smaller than the usual shower towel at home, so I plan to buy the beach size eventually for camping in the cooler months so I can really wrap up in it :)
Good washcloth
Many European hotels do not have wash cloths. Taking this with us and keeping it in a ziplock bag solved the problem.
