jams easy
The cord lock jams very easy and it caused a hold up with TSA when it wouldn’t unlock when they asked. Pin didn’t work and the cord got stuck inside the lock. Ended up cutting it off. They weren’t happy and neither was I
Finicky but works
Works fine, is a little finicky to unlock because the code has to be perfectly aligned but the dials spin easily. A slight bump while adjusting one dial and you have to reset the previous. This was particularly frustrating when I was resetting the combo and it took a few tries to get it aligned. However! The cable is just long enough to fit around the top buckle on the Yeti Hopper (2024). I always check my Yeti (loaded up with food and ice) and the lock gives me both security confidence but also confidence that it won't accidentally open and leak all over. I'd say if you need to lock a buckle, this lock is great. For my other luggage, I find the traditional U style lock easier.
A stronger, more secure TSA-type lock.
This TSA-approved lock is a big improvement over what’s been available for securing luggage. It’s a more robust, precise mechanism that’s easy to program, and locks and unlocks with equal ease. When the combination is set for unlocking, a push on the spring-loaded button (located on left side) causes the cable’s hasp to automatically pop out - a very nice feature.
No
I bought two of these. The first was fine. The second wouldn't open and I couldn't reset. Pretty scary as I don't want to be in a situation where I can't unlock luggage. Would not buy again and hope I can get refunded.
PACSAFE is SAFE!
Amazing lock- Took it on a trip to Europe and someone tried to cut the lock to get into our luggage- No luck for them.
Need some improvements
Need some improvements. Dials are hard to turn, some only turn forward and some both forward and backward. Numbers are hard to read and need more contrast. I have small fingers so I imagine larger fingers will be even more challenged.
No instructions on how to reset default 000 code
The packaging doesn't contain code reset instructions, nor does the REI listing or the manufacturer listing on Pacsafe's website. A simple diagram on the cardboard packing would've sufficed, but no luck.
Good lock and Cost Less toBuy.
Cost less than, even, REI’s. I like the fact that when you push the lever it pops open for you. Nice cable length. Advice. Make sure you have your code right. It doesn’t allow for changing that I can see.
Great
Ive had this originally as a gym lock but now I just keep it on my keys for any time i might need a gym locker or a lock for another reason. Its super slim and secure and easy to set the password... No complaints here after using for about 2 years
Difficult start
I read the directions and ended up being locked out. Can’t use it now.
