speed sensor not working on road bike hub
The peed sensor doesn’t fit on the hubs of my Trek road bike . The trainer was smooth but was much noisier than my previous trainer. Saris has not responded to multiple emails
Trainer is great, assembly directions are horrible
Assembly, due to Saris' very, very poor instructions, was a pain. When it came to placement of the L-bolt, I took the thing to the bike store, which was able to help me. It also told me not to be misled by Saris' strong warnings about NOT using the spindle. My bike, a Grater Charge does not use the spindle, and an email to Saris confirmed this. When everything was assembled, it turned out that the cadence/speedometer device was not compatible with the Saris app on my iphone, and that the cadence/speedometer bands did not fit around the wheel hub. Due to social distancing measures, you can only reach Saris support for this product (one person, Megan) by email. She's very responsive, but it is not in real time, which means you may need to wait until the next working day to move to the next step.... or not.
Product doesn't work and zero customer support
Speed/cadence sensor that came with the trainer will not pair via Bluetooth. I have tried it on two phones and three computers. Saris kicks you out of phone support queue and asks you to email for support. Several emails have all gone unanswered. Is Saris still in business?
Awesome Trainer!
Love it! Super easy set up. Whisper quiet. Great road-like resistance.
Indoor bike training
Excellent product. It’s quiet and simulates outdoor bike riding plus the cadence counter allows me to monitor and maintain consistent strength training.
Exactly what I was looking for!
For a novice bike rider, this thing works great. I'm challenged each I use it. I would recommend for anyone who needs a way to ride indoors.
Poor build quality
REI was extremely helpful with replacing my first one that had a leak. The second one I went to Saris about because of a loud clicking sound. The third one started to sound like a dirt bike after one ride. Saris is now sending me my 4th trainer in the last 36 days.
Weird Noise
Metal-on-metal clanging sound when I get to 190ish watts. I think it's from the thru-axle components. Goes away if I tamper with it enough, but a bit inconvenient. Other than that, tough trainer that does its job.
Not a real smart trainer.
This trainer is not a true smart trainer. It fine if you want to use it for watching movies but I would not recommend this trainer if you are wanting to use this for training apps.
Good trainer, bad sensor, poor customer support.
Trainer set up easily, and works great so far. My only gripe is that the sensor does not work and after emailing Saris customer support almost a month ago, I have yet to hear from them. So maybe 4 stars for the trainer and 2 for Saris customer support, averaging out to a 3 for now.
