Every hunting optics brand has a foundation story that usually depicts a scene with then-optics failing to meet the needs of a hunter. Nightforce is no exception, but optical devices weren’t the brand’s primary focus. The company’s founder, Ray Dennis, lived in Australia where spotlighting was the most popular hunting method due to the peculiarities of local fauna. Spotlights drove Dennis to try his hand at creating hunting optics. After a successful launch on the Australian market, the Lightforce company was founded with the intention to venture into the U.S. Spotlights received a cold welcome, but the scopes were warmly accepted. It was then decided to shift focus to optics. Due to trademark issues, the company was forced to change its name to Nightforce in the early 90s. It reclaimed the right to use the Lightforce brand name after a while, but sporting optics remained in the domain of Nightforce. Today, the company produces riflescopes and optic accessories fit for both military and hunting applications. The brand introduced several product lines that formed its reputation as a manufacturer of standard-setting high-end sporting optics.     

Nightforce Scopes

The Nightforce NXS series was the brand’s standard bearer line of scopes suitable for the military and hunters alike. The series served as a foundation for another line of hunting scopes, Nightforce NX8. The Nightforce SHV scopes are known for their versatility across a wide range of shooting disciplines.
