Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly Perfect Travel BagBag works as a carry on! The Mission Rover is perfect size for long weekend travel. Designed with split side organization, excellent zippers, bomb proof construction, and tons of usable storage for its size; it's an excellent tool for the regular traveler. I have three improvements to offer.-While bag has shoulder straps, the addition of a waist strap would be welcome, especially in giant airports.-Could use some kind of easy access water bottle carry. The dirty clothes access works ok for this, but not ideal.-A few MOLLE strips to attach items. Caribeener + Nalgene = solved water bottle problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The New Travel StandardI got tired of sprinting through Chicago O'Hare to make a connection and decided I needed something else. The duffel bag wasn't what I wanted, but I love being organized and stumbled on the Mission Rover. I've taken it on numerous weekend trips and it's been great so far. Just got it packed for a week long trip to Alaska and I was very pleased on how much I had packed into the Mission Rover (and it was neatly organized). I certainly won't be checking a bag for this trip since this bag seems to do the trip. The Ultimate test for a week in Alaska starts now and I'm feeling confident. Thanks Mystery Ranch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just great, well-designed and ruggedI do field work in rough places in Africa. After many misadventures with just cramming my stuff into a climbing backpack and hopping on flights, I finally decided to splurge on real luggage. This bag is awesome. I'm on lots of flights on small planes with space restrictions, but I can cram everything I need for a week or more into this thing and squeeze in to the small overhead bins. Really rugged and well constructed, but also well thought out and designed. Laptop sleeve works great and is easy to access even when crammed full. The outer pocket for documents and essentials is also handy for border crossings. Having the option of a separate compartment for dirty laundry is also a really great touch I never would've thought of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great everyday bag for workI have this bag and the rip ruck that I use for work (fire service) I am hard on my gear and both bags have held up very well at work. I would like to see more everyday bags like a small catchall bag and a toiletry bag. A bunch of us at work go though toiletry bags like nothing. I would like to see MR come out with one because I know that with the quality of their gear, that bag will last me till I retire. The MR bags have held up so well for me that I started with just this bag and now I own 4 different MR bags for different occasions. I have seen where people complain about the zippers and yes they can be a bit hard to open but they are also very strong and they hold up to abuse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bagRecently bought this bag for a carry-on in a ride to Europe While I wish there were outside attachment options, this bag provided plenty of separation in nice easily divided compartments. The 30L is a perfect carry on and I can easily fit 2-3 pairs of shoes in the separate compartment. The laptop area is amazing and provides an easy location to access a computer (including larger size ones) on longer flights. My partner saw my bag and now wants one! I previously used a north face duffel bag but noticed the Mystery Ranch one provided a world of difference including with dividers and having a similar (if not the same) amount of space

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! but...In general, love the bag. Great quality construction, good size, holds a lot of gear. Love the split design and book-like opening. That said it has a couple of issues that really disappoint. The front Organizer pocket does not open enough so it is hard to get stuff in and out of. Also, the dividers are a weird size and almost all identical, so cannot fit phone or passport, etc. Seems like pen/flashlight size only. No zipper/mesh pockets for small items either. Would like a larger more functional pocket with more of a U-shaped zipper. Also. Laptop pocket only fits small laptops. Standard corporate HP ProBook won't fit. Tablet sleeve only takes really small device. No larger iPads, etc. Also no pockets for cords, power supply etc. The organizer pocket needs to be a bit bigger and open up more to make it useable. Finally, would love a nicer padded, non-slip shoulder strap. The simple plain strap slips off easily when on one shoulder, and is uncomfortable when bag is heavy. Version 2?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Perfect!I have only had this item for a few weeks and have already used it 3 different times and I has been great. I have even taken it on a plane with no issues. The only qualm I have with it is I have a 15" Mac Laptop with a very thin case on it. I really have to push it into the laptop slot. If that could be just a 1/2" wider it would be great. I just feel like I am going to rip the stitching when I put it in there. But hey maybe that is meant to be so it doesn't move around in there. Thank you Mystery Ranch! More packs for different uses will be getting purchased soon!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Close enoughI've had this bag for about 6 months and use it for international business travel. I went through half-a-dozen different carry-on bags in the last 5 years and this one definitely comes closest to meeting my needs. Build quality is excellent, but def has a few shortcomings:The bag has no structure. You can even tell in the pictures. When filled with clothes, it bulges and twists like a pillow in a pillow case. The lack of structure coupled with the sub-par shoulder straps make it look awkward on your back. I don't load it down, but i imagine if you used it to its full capacity it would be extremely uncomfortable. I suggest you guys ditch the hidden shoulder strap gimmick and go with a standard internal frame backpack system.I love the clamshell design. Super practical and easy to keep clothes organized. However, the top clamshell is basically useless. it is deeper on the bottom than the top and really doesn't store anything well. When carrying it as a backpack, everything slides to the bottom giving the bag a wierd pear shape. i would rather see a panel of mesh zippered pockets on this side to store things like electronics cables, books, hygeine stuff, etc. Lastly, the bag is just dimensionally too big for international travel. IMO, it should only be as wide as a pair of shoes and redesigning the top clamshell should shrink it just enough to be perfect! Can't wait for version 2!
